Bleeding AGAIN .. Do I ask for another scan?

Hello,
I'm 10+4 and bleeding slightly. I had a bleed at 9 weeks as well and was referred for a scan. The little one was fine and wriggling around, of course I'm worried again (although I do have morning sickness as normal).
Should I ask the midwives for another scan, will they offer another so soon after the first? I am all of a fluster.

Thanks Katy

I bled on and off for the first 18 weeks. I spoke to the community midwife every time and they scanned me every time. I had 7 scans in that time (not including the 12 week one). It's a horrible. Sorry you're going through it, apparently it's also incredible common. Hope everything goes well. Mine is 5 years old now but for that first 18 weeks I waa terrified to go to the loo in case there was blood. Try and get some reassurance.

Ring them - in my experience they have wanted to scan me to be safe, even for the tiniest drop of bleeding.

Lots of luck - hopefully it's something random and benign as you had a good scan so recently.

I went three times for a scan after bleeding between 8 and 12 weeks, they were always happy to check and it's less stress on you too.

I think I'm about 5-6 weeks pregnant and on Saturday (sorry for tmi) me and my partner had some fun and when I went to the toilet there was a spotting of blood. My doctor told me to expect it now and then. But im going to mention it to my midwife tomorrow and see what she says. I was told not to worry so try not to causes more stress than needed.

I would ask for another scan. Just for your own peace of mind

During the first 12 weeks of my last pregnancy I bled a lot. At one point I bled so badly I passed clots loke large pieces of chopped liver and had blood running down my legs - it was awful.
I was scanned several times and he was fine. After my last big bleed and scan I went to my gp when I started bleeding again (but more lightly this time) and he sat me down and said very kindly but matter-of-factly that all these scans are not good for the baby. Nature will do what she will do and we will have to accept it. I could have a scan now and be fine and bleed again tomorrow and have had a mc then. He signed me off and put me on bed rest for a month or so and told me to wait for my 12 week scan (unless I had another heavy bleed, in which case I needed a&e anyway). It sort of made sense to me, even though the waiting and the uncertainty was awful!
So I spent the first few weeks/months of my pregnancy lying in bed crying, eating, vomiting and watching box sets.
But the bleeding eventually just settled and DS was born perfectly healthy. They never found out what had caused it!
Basically what I'm trying to say is I really feel for you op. I know the waiting and uncertainty is awful. Only you can know if another scan will reassure you. Sending you lots of strength!

Definitely ask for another scan to check everything is ok. Are you able to self refer to your local early pregnancy unit? Might be worth checking out.

Good luck x

Thanks for the replies, I spoke to my husband and then the mw and we decided together that I wouldn't go for another scan. The scan is not a preventative measure and having it would cause a lot of stress. I have a problem needing reassurance so if I had another scan today, I'd be wanting one every day.
Mw said if I changed my mind I could be referred!
