Solved my maternity jeans issues...

I'm 29 weeks, and over the past few months have bought (and hated) a few pairs of over bump and under bump jeans...I just couldn't find anything that didn't either fall down or dig in.
I love wearing skinny jeans so this has been especially frustrating- my cousin had on some lovely black, skinny jeans with ripped knees last weekend and I was just sick with jealousy!
Well...this afternoon I popped into Tesco with my husband after work and spotted some Super-Skinny black ripped-knees jeans in the sale and thought I would try a pair in a size 16 (pre pregnancy size 12) and you know what? They are perfect. I'm going to go back and grab an 18 for when my bump gets even bigger towards the end.
Because they are super skinny and mostly lycra, they just look like regular skinny jeans in the legs, despite being 2 sizes up. My bump comfortably fills the top part without any drooping or digging. I am so happy!

So ladies, if you are struggling with maternity jeans, just try super skinny jeans (the really tight stretchy ones) a couple of sizes up and they will be perfect!

You. Are. Welcome Flowers

Not so much fun when your ankles swell up later on and you can't quite reach to pull them off Wink

I think wafty maxi dresses and flip flops will be my choice for august! I'm already too hot in jeans at 6 months!

I have a Tesco pair of jeggings a few sizes bigger than pre-pregnancy I have been wearing in my final month of pregnancy. They are way more comfortable than my maternity jeans.

Touché, DeladionInch

Simply the joys of pregnancy, it's just so glamorous!

Littlef00t · 05/06/2015 21:18

I loved jeggings for most of my pregnancy, but towards the end I couldn't stand anything touching my bump.

Lunastarfish · 06/06/2015 10:31

Maternity jeans have had me in tears - nothing fit me properly. The best trousers I have are non maternity jeggings from next. I'm usually a 14 but bought a 16. I'm 34 weeks now and they still fit

BlinkAndMiss · 06/06/2015 14:38

I did something similar up until about 36 weeks, after then things started swelling and my bump became uncomfortable so I just couldn't get away with it anymore.

I've moved onto linen maternity trousers from Mothercare, my bump is big enough to hold the over the bump material up now but before this they were just stupidly big. My legs are so swollen that I can only wear baggy leg trousers :(.

Glad you've found something that works for you for now, there's nothing worse than being uncomfortable.

WorldsBiggestGrotbag · 06/06/2015 14:44

I'm with Deladion, currently 36 weeks and can't bear jeans at the moment (usually live in my skinnies). I will be spending the next 4-5 weeks in a sack.

Sparrowlegs248 · 06/06/2015 15:09

I have given up any idea of jeans. 32wks and have tried numerous pairs on, didn't think I would want over bump but found under bump awful, how are they supposed to stay up?!? The sizing is all over the place (size 14's varying between baggy and not able to get on at all)

Now grudge paying out for what is only a few weeks. Leggings (normal) are my staple at home. Dresses at work and out.

Turquoiseblue · 06/06/2015 18:34

I m just sick of jeans at this stage - 22 weeks only, feel mahoosive! Regular jeans in size up fit my tighs and bum but can't tie as bump is low, maternity jeans fall down, over bump jeans are just horrible - I dislike the VPL effect of the band. I m loving lots of maxi skirts and slim fitting tees.

ceebelle83 · 06/06/2015 19:16

Might have to look into maxi skirts!

maxi skirt my pin board is here. I still wear skinny jeans some days, and have a few pairs of topshop under bump jeans (that slide downwards when I bend/ sit BlushBlush)!

I have a really great bump band that helps to keep them in place, it s the right combo of stretchy yet firm - unlike others I got that are just cotton.
Today is TS flared jeans (from previous pregnancy- back in vogue Wink- the advantages of having a big age gap) with salmon coloured Cos top, and tan sweedish hasbeens. Now sure how long I ll last in the jeans though - it s hotting up here.

ceebelle83 · 07/06/2015 09:33

I'm wearing a maxi dress today...My arse feels so freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Primark boob tubes! Wear all your normal jeans under bump and use one as a bump band to hide the gap.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 07/06/2015 13:50

Robsters at 36 weeks I've put far too much weight on my arse for my normal size 8's Grin

sophiaslullaby · 07/06/2015 18:02

Im living in maxi dresses and skirts - i can't stand waistbands (my skirts are loose and hipsters)as i bloat in the afternoons. As ceebelle rightly put it -freedom!! To hot to want tight clothes on. Although im not due until early Nov so guess it'll be stretchy trousers by the end...
