is this normal?? re:midwife visits at 36-40 weeks

I thought i would be down to seeing the midwife every week by now, but last appointment was when i was 36 weeks, next appointment is when j will be 39 weeks - surely 3 weeks at this stage is a big gap?

In my area and in a non complicated pregnancy it is 36 then 38 weeks, then 39.

Ah ok, strange im not getting seen at 38 weeks maybe. Im in scotland and mil seemed surprised i wasn't down to weekly visits...oh well

Is it your second baby? I saw mine last week at 36 weeks and should have been seeing her next at 39 but as that is the day im having my ELCS im seeing her at 38 weeks instead

Iirc mine were 36, 38, 40, 41 weeks. Maybe they are really busy or a midwife is on leave or something when you are 38 weeks so they've had to push it back?

Mine were two weekly after 36 weeks

My schedule says 36, 38 ,then 41. 40 weeks only if first baby. The schedule is printed on the inside of the cardboard folder the notes are in.

Its first baby, no complications, green pathway, although ive been hospitalised 3 times (for stomach pain, then gastroenteritis ). Yeah i saw my 'schedule' in my notes and says i should have had appointment at 36, 38, 40. Saying that i think she is on leave, but im seeing someone else for my 39 week apt so surely wouldnt have made a difference? Oh well i feel fine so not worried, just thought it was weird!

i heard from my sister that's lot of places are now reducing number of visits in straightforward pregnancies. I had 3 in the UK but am now in Canada (Ontario) and my visits have been fortnightly since 30 weeks and will become weekly at 37 weeks. The 37 week visit will be a home visit too.

I'm in Edinburgh. Last appointment was 32 weeks, next is 36 and then mw said I will see her every 2 weeks after that
I have a table in the back of my notes showing when I should have mw/doc appointments
