Low lying placenta

I had a scan yesterday to see if my placenta previa had moved. It had, but not enough to be normal- it's still a low lying placenta. In my last pregnancy, I had a placenta previa that moved up and out of the way. For what it's worth, I have not had any bleeding.

At my last visit, the OB told me to get the scan to check on the placenta previa. She told me that, if I did have previa, they would want to schedule a C section for 37 or 38 weeks. I know I'm going to be having a C section by 39 weeks- a non-C-section delivery is not something that is going to happen.

My next appointment with my OB is on Monday. Hopefully they will tell me whether they want to do the delivery earlier or not then. Meanwhile, I'd like to ask if anyone here has had experience with a low-lying placenta, and what sort of things might happen.

How far along are you now?
I had a large bleed at 35 weeks and an emcs. My only advice would be pack your bag in case of any bleeds as you'll probably be admitted for bed rest at least if that happens.
It seems to be luck though. Some move right at the end - they were going to scan me at 36 weeks to see if that had happened, some don't, some move the wrong way. It's quite unpredictable.
I had to have blood transfusions but they said mine was a 1 in 200 case (it moved 'out of the way' then back)
DS was and is fine. We had some feeding issues because he was late preterm, and he had jaundice but all ok.
Take it easy and hope it goes well

That's good then, as you're quite far along if anything happens. Although hopefully it won't and all will go smoothly. All the best

They're not worried enough to move my C section date up. They don't seem to be very worried at all about my low placenta.

I guess it depends what grade you have and how many bleeds etc. Are they rescanning at 36 weeks? With mine last time they were going to book me in after that scan

They haven't said anything about rescanning. I'll be at 34 weeks Thursday, so I'm guessing that isn't going to happen. I still haven't had any bleeding.
