Awful paranoia

Because of lack of symptoms I'm really paranoid something is wrong. I want to get a private scan. When do you think is the earliest and best time to see a heartbeat on monitor?

I was bang on 7 weeks when I had my scan and we got a good strong heartbeat too without needing an internal scan. How far gone are you as my symptons didn't really start until about 6 weeks either.

Depends how long you feel you can wait. The stats of everything being fine after having seen a hb improve hugely with each advancing week so in a way the later you can bear to leave it, the more reassuring it will be (unless you go for two of them!). I would say absolutely do not go before 7 weeks (or 7 weeks adjusted, if you know you ovulate late in your cycle) because there is nothing less reassuring than seeing a fetal pole with no hb and having to wait another week to find out if you were just too early...!

If it's any reassurance I had absolutely no symptoms early on and was a bit worried before my 12 week scan; everything was fine and I'm now 31 weeks! Eep!

Earliest - hard to say because it's never exact when you conceived.
Best - go for eight weeks. I did and it was amazing to see the little bean with a beat!

But don't fret about lack of symptoms! It doesn't mean there's anything wrong at all!

I was so sick with my first two but with this one nothing. Not even sore boobs. I just feel really dizzy and faint all the time.

I had a scan at 5+5 and saw/heard a heartbeat but I wasn't expecting it at all as they say it isn't always possible that early - so to be safe I would go for 7 weeks if I were you.

However just to reassure you - I am 22 weeks now and have never had any symptoms. I did get sore boobs but that was it, never felt tired, dizzy, sick or anything. I was also terrified that it was a bad sign but everything is absolutely fine and I still feel well. I know you are worried as well because it is so different to your last pregnancy but that is normal too - a friend sailed through her first pregnancy feeling absolutely great and then felt like crap through the whole of her second.

Easier said than done I know because I was the worst worrier in the world in the early days but try to enjoy it and don't worry!

Symptoms dont really kick in until 8 weeks & some woman dont get any. U think u want them to put ur mind at ease and then once u have every possible symptom going...u wish u didn't have any!! Good luck, xx

I had an early scan at 7 weeks and the heartbeat was seen. I also didn't have any symptoms either early on so it doesn't mean something is wrong.
