What is the baby heart rate for a girl & a boy is it over 140 a girl & under a boy or am i wrong?

It's bolleaux. DD2 was a boy according to heart rate.

am i right in the rate?

Yes- 140+ = girl.
Sure is old wives tale, but was right for my ds and dd.

not true - dd2 was a boy by heart rate and this one they 'think' is a girl but is again a boy by heart rate.

Now, the young midwife I last saw, said she thought there could be something in it. Given that we know what sex our LO is, it seems to be so, on this occasion. But who knows..

old wives tales are fun...but a 50 % chance of being wrong

ultrasound is more accurate..but not always 100 % !!

DD and DS were both a constant 150 throughout the pregnancy ... so um, yes, bolleaux

Not sure about heart rate BUT........... If it sounds like a horse galloping then its a girl..if it sounds like a train its a boy....

Did you all ask the rate of the heartbeat? In both pregnancies I got it taken every 2wks but no one ever told me the rate.

they usually right it on your notes..they did with mine anyway!

my dd's heartbeat was 130 throughtout the whole pg but towards the end - well on the day of my induction it was 150

They haven't this time. Not sure about before.

Thanks everyone it is for a friend, she has her scan tomorrow anyway, she only knows the heart rate because she got rushed into hospital because she had food poisoning & it was written on her notes, she phoned & asked if i could find out, so i thought good old MN will know

I will let you know if it was right for her her heart rates written on notes were 142 + 156 so by this is should be a girl but we will see tomorrow

how did your friend get on at the scan?

I have been told i'm having a boy, and the heart rate has been 120/130 throughout pregnancy, i'm 35+ now, so seems to be right this time, but not sure what my girls were, suppose its just luck , like all the old wives tales theres a 50/50 chance of them being right!!
