Am I having an ectopic pregnancy?

I'm hoping I'm just being paranoid and spending too much time Googling instead of sleeping right now, but I really can't relax.

I miscarried at the end of March at 7 weeks, although scan showed an empty 5 week sack. I bled for about a week and then it stopped on its own. The follow up scan showed that my embryo sac had been passed so I didn't need surgery. I bled again a few weeks later, which I assumed to be my period and then started trying again straight away.

I took a pregnancy test two weeks ago, which was positive. My new dates show I would have been 4 weeks, now 6 weeks.

However, my stomach is incredibly bloated still, I have been having a lot of pain in my stomach and in my hips and back. I also have Crohn's disease and have been having a flare up which doesn't seem to be going away throughout this whole time. Looking online, these all seem to be symptoms of ectopic pregnancy. I also keep on thinking I feel something moving (if my first pregnancy had continued I would now be around 17 weeks.)

It is possible that I wasn't actually miscarrying or having periods a few months ago, but having an ectopic pregnancy, despite the sac being passed through bleeding?

Sorry for the long post. I'm so worried about this pregnancy at the moment and really can't relax.

I have just re read that and hope you can make sense of it. I'm half asleep at the moment so lots of my words have been muddled!

I'm sorry I don't know anything about this and can't help you- hopefully someone will be here soon who can, I just didn't want to read and run. Sending you a hug (())

Go to your doctor and ask for some blood tests. They will be able to tell if your levels are a new pregnancy or a 17 week one.

Looking online, the average date of discovery for an ectopic pregnancy is 5.5 weeks if that helps

Get yourself checked out OP. I'm sure nobody can diagnose you on the internet but an ectopic pregnancy is dangerous.

It seems very unlikely that you could have had an ectopic pregnancy when you miscarried. During your scan they will have checked to see that your tubes were clear and that there wasn't anything else needing to be passed. In addition, if left unchecked you would have experienced incredible pain and probably lost one of your tubes.

Pregnancy hormones can cause all sorts of changes in your body, and that's very likely why you've had a flare-up of your Crohn's. I would make an appointment with your doctor to discuss your symptoms, but I don't think you need to worry about the possibility of an ectopic.

Like Titus said.

Also when I was pregnant I had a doubt about wether I might be having an ectopic and I just took myself to A&E. The pain was manageable but I said I had a strong pain on one side (turns out it was the corpus liteum - spelling is wrong-) and didn't want complications and my surgery or EPU couldn't see me for a week so they did BT tests there and then and assessed me.

Good luck x
