Pregnancy after miscarriage - need support

Hi everyone

We lost our first baby in September and now I am pregnant again, I know we are very lucky to have got pregnant again so quickly but I am terrified.

I don't feel pregnant and I didn't last time either. I'm 5 weeks pregnant. I know there is nothing I can physically do to make sure this baby makes it.

I've had backache for about 10 days which is how my miscarriage started last time. Other than that I have no early pregnancy symptoms.

Anyone else had similar experience?

Just didn't want your post to go unanswered. I misacrried after 8 weeks and got preganant within a month (it was not meant to happen that fast!). I did not feel pregnant for a good few weeks then tiredness and nausea kicked in. Then I wished I had continued to feel non pregnant.

I understand from friends who have carried full term a number of times (3) that it has been different for them each time.

I did carry full term the second time.

i miscarried at 7 weeks then went on to have two gorgeous boys.i didnt feel very sick with any of them until later in the pregnancy.

i panicked as everyone told me the more sick you feel the better the pregnancy is going but until around 12 weeks i wasnt sick with either, then mainly at the end of the pregnancy to be honest.

try to keep positive and be careful.my midwife banned me from sex with my last two incase of complications.dont know if that was just my circumtances or if thats a general thing.

good luck with it all.i know someone who had 3 miscarriages then has now got 2 children.

Thanks for your lovely thoughts, I know I have to remain positive! I have posted on the other thread (Part 4) and will keep you updated on there.

It's mad how we are despreate to feel sick because somehow we think it will make everything seem right!!

i feel exactly the same as u im 6 weeks today and had a missed m/c in march after trying for 8 months finally fell but im petrified this will go the same why i am permanently staring at my underwear checking, i try to stay positive but it is so hard.

i have sore boobs and feel bit sick but only over weekend it really started just want to throw up every day so i feel better about it all x

Scubes, i'm 24 weeks, had missed mc 2 years ago and have been completely paranoid all the way so far! have took myself off to A&E twice for just feeling a bit weird, so don't worry, your reaction to being PG again is totally understandable. Best wishesx

Hi Scubes. I had a m/c at 11 weeks (3rd pg) last year. I had no sickness, sore boobs or tiredness with that one. 2 months later, I became pregnant again (was on the pg after mc thread) and at 6 weeks, I had so many aches and pains (like my period was about to start) I convinced myself things were going wrong again. It was the midwife who told me the aches/pains were normal and was a sign things were growing. DD3 is now 6 1/2 months old.

Hi scubes, I know exactly how you're feeling. I had a m/c last year at about 8 weeks and bled at 10 +3 with this pregnancy, I am now nearly 32 weeks but have worried throughout, even though everything has been fine so far. My only advice would be to take it easy and relax. After my bleed at 10 + 3 I was in bed for a week getting waited on!!! Keep us posted and relax x
