SHINGLES IN PREGNANCY

Hi everyone

I am ten weeks pregnant and have just been diagnosed with the shingles. This is a much wanted pregnancy after a heartbreaking year of an ectopic and 2 MCs so I am a bag of nerves. I've been on preds to try and prevent MC but these are just being faded out. Has anyone else had the shingles in pregnancy? How long did it last and how long was it painful for? I have really acute pain near my spine (the other rash pain is manageable but that one is a stonker). Thanks in advance x

I had it during my pregnancy. The doctor wasn't concerned one but when I was diagnosed, and I was worried as I thought it was dangerous.
I was just told to keep it hidden(it was on the inside of my leg, so that wasn't hard!) and leave it be.
I was around 25 weeks though I think, so I don't know if they would have been more concerned if it was earlier on in my pregnancy.

Same as NotSo, I was around 25ish weeks when I had it, and doctor wasn't at all concerned about the baby. I think I must have had a mild case as it wasnt that painful for me. I hope you feel better soon.

thank you sanch - i think its because its on my spine perhaps as the rash in my chest isnt nowhere near as bad. fingers crossed it goes away soon. how long did it last for you guys? x
