Hi. I'm abit embarrassed to be asking this, but as Google just scares me I would rather ask here.
I've had a lot (or more than usual) of thick almost snotty like discharge today I've been having tummy aches but I put it down to wind but after seeing this I'm now abit worried,it doesn't smell weird and I've had it before just not this much and I've never had any cramping or anything? I'm 15 weeks, is this normal?

From your bottom or your vagina?

I would call your midwife to be on the safe side.

A normal bit of discharge is fine, but if it is green or smells then definately needs to be checked as may be an infection.

I'm 9 weeks and have this now and in my first pregnancy! Funny greeny colour. I don't know what it is but I'm not worried about it as I had before. Not very nice and pleasant, but it doesn't cause me any harm.

However you might want to get checked out at the doctor to just rule anything else out x

Yes, best to be on safe side and see what MW says. Let us know how you get on!

I've just remembered I had a swab when I had it during my first pregnancy to rule anything out and it wasn't anything just normal discharge. They might say have a swab.

Good luck let us know how you get on

My midwife NEVER answers her phone, does my head in. I left her a message after I posted the last comment and she hasn't got back to me yet so I'll have to just wait till she does I guess x

Hopefully they call back soon. Try not to worry, I'm sure it's honestly fine but they are the professionals and will be able to give you the best advice Flowers

I've had minimal amounts of this last week, I spoke to my GP as I was there anyway. He sent me for a swab, I'm waiting for the results but I've not had any in a week.

Best to be safe than sorry.

If no luck at midwife, go see gp. Does sound like an infection, they may want to do a swab, always better to get it checked out. Unfortunately at 15 weeks the midwives etc just refer you on to gp (in my experience) so might be best going direct to them x

Bellabutterfly2014 · 01/06/2015 18:28

Hey mummy piggy, I've had the same I'm also 15 weeks but after previous miscarriage I'm on permanent knicker checking!!!!

My midwife said it was normal something about lining of the cervix cleaning out.

Hope you're mw gets back to you soon tho x

MummyPiggy87 · 01/06/2015 20:29

Yeah bella I heard that too, it's just the amount was more! It's worrying isn't it when your already on edge, took us 2 years to get pregnant!
Thank you I'll call GP in morning x

Its normal. I had quite a bit at the same stage, then back to normal for a while. Now at 31wks its back. I actually thought id we'd a bit when i sat down last week. Nope, 'just' excess discharge. Oh the joys.
