sore boobs - see GP?

Any advice from anyone who has had anything similar? A bit of a story to this one, sorry. Had a failed contraception moment about 2 weeks ago, I wasn't too worried as period was due 4 days later. Then period didn't arrive and I went into a slight panic and did a POAS test which came up negative. AF finally arrived 8 days late and has been mostly normal just a bit lighter than usual. My issue is that I have had seriously sore boobs since about 3 days before AF arrived and they have stayed the same all the way through with nipple pain almost like a let down reflex. Do I see GP about this as I am pretty sure I can't be pregnant since having AF but haven't a clue why they should be so sore. Anyone got sage advice? I am 39, is this start of menopause symptoms?

No idea about menopause, but I got incredibly sore boobs the month before I got pregnant. I only noticed it because pregnancy was a possibility. So, maybe it's just normal hormonal time-of-the-month stuff?
But, I guess if you're worried you should see the GP. No harm in getting checked out.

Thanks CD, I'm not normally this paranoid! I will probably ignore it and hope it goes away for a another week or so before bothering doc, it's just weird as the only time I have had them this sore before I was pregnant. I just want my body to feel normal!

Why don't you test again? That would confirm you had a period rather than implantation bleeding.

I would definitely test again. It's likely that a GP would do that any way. Get a super sensitive test. May be that you did conceive but lost the embryo very early so may have has some hormonal fluctuation. May also just be wobbly hormones, or may well be an actual pregnancy.... Do another test and if negative visit gp.
