If you have already have a baby, how much weight did you put on in the pregnancy.

If this is your first, how far along are you and how much have you put on so far?

I have put on 9lbs at 16 weeks which seems rather a lot?!

I put on about 2lb in the first trimester, about 20lb in the second and another 7lb or so in the third. Six months after ds was born and I'm back to 4lb above pre pregnancy weight despite eating like a horse... breastfeeding is my friend! I seriously wouldn't worry about it, try and eat healthily but 9lb sounds fine. Everyone's body desks with it differently and the only thing that really matters is that at the end of it you have a healthy baby and healthy mummy, even if you are a bit squashy round the edges for a while (like me Wink)

*deals, not desks!

1st pregnancy - I've no idea but I was back in pre-pregnancy trousers by dd's 10 day check.

2nd pregnancy - I'm 39 weeks and have put on 11kg according to the mw at my 38 week check. Hoping for a net loss!!

I put on 2 and a half stone, but she was delivered at 34 weeks, so it probably would have been around three stone if I had gone full term.

A stone and a half fell off easily the last stone is taking some work. But I found cutting calories at all hugely affected my supply and I hated exercising with giant leaky books, so I've only really been trying since we switched to formula a few weeks ago when she was 8 months.

I was very overweight to start with. I also have type 2 diabetes so so I'm not eating sweets, chocolate or cake
I've lost 2lbs so far and I'm 23+5 weeks

dinodiva · 01/06/2015 06:53

24 weeks and no idea. I don't own a set of scales and don't want to put that sort of added pressure on myself!

milliemanzi · 01/06/2015 07:17

I'm the same dinodiva! I think you're all very brave to do so, as long as I'm not ballooning I'll be keeping away from the scales for sure!

trilbydoll · 01/06/2015 07:45

I had dd2 10 days ago. I put on 21kg Grin it's an achievement I think. I started at 60kg so it's a big %.

With dd1 I didn't put on quite this much but I lost it during mat leave. Hopefully having two to run around after will help burn it off!

First pregnancy 2 & 1/2 stone - took 18 months to get back to pregnancy weight and I was pretty large to behind with (ok I was obese but in denial).

Second pregnancy I was marginally lighter than my first pregnancy weight but only put on 11 lbs - 4weeks after birth I was half a stone lighter than my starting weight (but I did then regain that half a stone a bit too easily once I rediscovered cider)

Fast forward 16 months and having joined a weight loss club I'm a stone and a half down on my original weight (and maintaining it) the lightest I've been in ten years.

colleysmill · 01/06/2015 08:06

Sorry I didn't mean my last paragraph to come across as smug Blush but after my first I really thought I'd never lose the weight. I'd never have believed I'd ever be where I am now

scarednoob · 01/06/2015 08:07

22 weeks tomorrow and 14lbs exactly. Not ideal as I was BMI 32 to begin with, sigh!

na5ima · 01/06/2015 08:14

I'm 41 weeks and I've put on exactly 2 stones.. I cannot wait to start exercising after the baby is born.. The question is when lol

goodnessgraciousgouda · 01/06/2015 09:11

Women are only allowed to put on 12kg (just under 2 stone) during a singleton pregnancy over here.

I'm only in the first trimester, but started at just under 59kg, then went up to 60.8kg, then have bizarrely gone back down to 59kg. I think it will be a while longer before any consistent weight gain starts happening.

littleostrich · 01/06/2015 09:19

I was 1.5 stone heavier at 32 weeks, which was the last time I weighed myself before DS was born two weeks later. I definitely put on a few more lbs in that time, so maybe just less than 2 stone in total?

HazleNutt · 01/06/2015 09:42

34 weeks tomorrow and 8 kilos so far. I'm abroad and get weighed at every monthly doc appointment.

Personally I put on weight easily, so I can't take the "oh who cares and don't worry about it" approach. You will be at least somewhat uncomfortable in your last trimester anyway, I didn't want the extra bulk to make it worse than it has to be. Can certainly feel the difference between this pregnancy and the first one, when I put on more than 20 kilos.

Focusfocus · 01/06/2015 16:33

5 kgs in 5 months....

BadIdeaBear · 01/06/2015 16:42

21lbs overall gain at 34+1
I lost in first trimester too (no booze...)
But been steady away gain since. Nice straight line on my graph on my Pregnancy+ app!

AbByG25 · 01/06/2015 22:24

I'm 32 weeks pregnant and have put on 6 stone. Was a tiny size 8 before but do much swelling and water retention plus pgp just ballooned. I have even been eating healthy
