Sinus infection?

Just wondering if anyone has had a sinus infection in pregnancy?
What were your symptoms?

I have had a really bad throbbing headache for 3 days but it's not a migraine.
Every time I bend down or stand up my head pounds, but I went to midwife today for 16 week appointment and blood pressure is fine as well as iron levels.

Bit of googling tells me it could be sinus infection but I don't feel like I have a cold!?!!

Yes, I had one for 12 weeks, overlapping with 8 weeks of pregnancy. I'm allergic to ABs so was hoping it would clear up on its own - nope!

I had what you describe, plus swollen nasal passages (as in, swollen shut several times a day), a slight temp, and a general feeling of lethargy and being unwell. Not fun.

Worth a visit to the GP I think.

Yes had it, nose was totally blocked and it was painful when I pressed on my cheek. Got ABs.

Yeah I had one after catching a cold. The only way I can describe it is feeling like I'd been punched in the face - it was really painful!

I have had a migraine for 8 weeks. Throwing up, blurred vision, aversion to light, it's awful! 3 Dr's told me it's 'just hormones'. Finally spoke to someone who took me seriously, checked my temp, pressed my face/forehead etc, and diagnosed me with chronic sinus infection. Was on abs for 1 week, cleared up and was feeling fab, 2 days later it came back! :-( I have been given nasal spray but it's doing no good!
Hope you're feeling better soon.

Miraculously I haven't had one in pregnancy - but pre-pregnancy I would get them about once or twice a year. Definitely sounds like a sinus infection - though possibly quite mild if you don't feel that ill. Mine normally come with flu-like symptoms as well. I'd go an see your GP and nip it in the bud before it gets worse.

It's just taken me 3 weeks to get over and was so painful. Couldn't bend down without pressure building in my head, plus face and tooth ache. Paracetamol barely touched it! I eventually got abs from the GP although it still took about 5 days to clear up. It really knocked me for six!!

Thank you- in went to the GP and as I didn't have any cold or flu symptoms he just prescribed me a steroid nasal spray. Had that for a couple of days and am feeling a lot better!
Never had that before, was just so confused with the head pounding when I stood up!

I had a really bad one in my first trimester....so bad I thought I had a tooth abscess and went to the dentist :(
The saline spray did nothing...I had to sleep upright like the bloody Elephant Man and could only breathe if I had one of those breath-right strips stuck on my nose...I did gently/sparingly use a bit of Olbas oil on a tissue when it got to much :(
Hope yours clears up soon...it's so shit not being about to take anything
