Hiya. I'm 9 weeks pregnant today. This morning I went for a wee and there was a hint of pink on the loo roll. Just been again and there is definitely some blood. Phoned my mw and I can have an early scan tomorrow.
That is 20 hours of worry ahead of me.

Please share some reassuring stories. This is my second pregnancy but I didn't bleed at all in the first.

Hi Katy

Sorry you're going through this, I know it's a worrying time. At least they are getting you in for a scan quickly so you should know tomorrow what's going on. Try to take it as easy as possible today and rest if you can.

I had spotting every day between 6-9 weeks with this pregnancy, plus a couple of occasions in weeks 10 & 11. I'm now 25 weeks and everything seems fine - no cause for the spotting was ever found. It can definitely be very common and when I went to EPU for early scans they told me this.

Good luck for tomorrow :)

If it helps, I bled though both my pregnancies - after multiple early scans, I was diagnosed as 'a bit of a bleeder'... I actually found out later I had cervical erosion - apparently very common, often triggered by pregnancy & not at all an issue. My kids are now 11 & 9 and very healthy. If annoying at times!

Thank you ladies. The 'bit of a bleeder' did make me laugh out loud.

Trying to think practical thoughts about what to do with my son while I go for the scan tomorrow. And of course eating my body weight in chocolate.

10 minutes gone.

It's great youve been proactive and that you're getting seen so soon.
Although bleeding is not uncommon in pregnancy, it is always best to get it checked out.
There's women who have had bleeds and everything's been fine, but sadly there's others that things haven't worked out for.
It will seem like FOREVER until tomorrow, but try to rest up and stay occupied.
Prepare yourself for both news outcomes and I hope you mange to get someone to look after your son during the scan, as that must be causing concern too.
Hoping for the best outcome, will be thinking of you. Please let us know how you get on.

I had spotting too at 7 weeks, but everything touch wood is ok now 16 weeks. Try to stay positive as long as you're not in pain with bad cramps and heavy red bleeding you're more than likely ok Flowers

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 28/05/2015 14:44

I had spotting both times around 9 weeks and have two healthy children. It stopped within about 12 hours. It didn't occur to me to ask for an early scan or contact my mw to be honest as it was light bleeding and stopped fairly soon.
Scared the shit out of me both times though - sorry you are too. Flowers

I had spotting on and off for around 8 weeks in early pregnancy (in all red colours!) and now have a healthy DD. The waiting for scans was the absolute worst thing. I would say try to do something that will take your mind off it, but I know that's pretty much impossible.

Rest up if you can Flowers

scarednoob · 28/05/2015 14:50

I had some spotting at 6 weeks and again at 16 weeks. both were fine, thank goodness.

it can be caused by lots of things that are nothing to worry about. fingers tightly crossed for you, keep us updated!

Cassie258 · 28/05/2015 14:52

I had spotting at about the same point. I remember it was a few weeks before 12 weeks. I also panicked but everything was fine and it's common. Don't worry at all Grin

I think if it's like fresh blood, has clots or is excessive then worry.

CommanderShepard · 28/05/2015 16:15

I had spotting from 5 weeks all the way through to 10 weeks. Now 24 weeks and baby is tapdancing on my bladder. Everything crossed for you Flowers

Katy hoping everything is ok. How did your scan go this morning?

KatyN · 29/05/2015 14:06

Hiya, after very little sleep we went for the scan this morning and all was fine. Superbly smooth despite having our three year old with us and horrendous morning sickness. I now have a picture of the little one to reassure me.
Thank you for your support kxxxxx
