Hi girls, yes me again and still torturing myself whilst I wait for my next scan!! Have resisted, somehow, until today to use the 30 or so tests that I have sitting in my bathroom cupboard. Well I just tested and test still came up really positive in seconds. Would this happen if little baby had stopped growing? Thanks again to anyone who replies! xxxx

I haven't seen your other threads, so can't comment on the whole situation.

But you absolutely do get positive pregnancy tests after a miscarriage, for a week or two after a complete mc.

When is your next scan due? Why do you think you've miscarried?

lemonaid · 11/11/2006 12:15

Yes, I'm afraid it would. As NQC says, even if you'd had a complete miscarriage you'd still be getting positives for a week or two at least, and with a missed miscarriage you will still have high hCG levels -- in my missed m/c I had hCG levels that were at least 150 times higher than those needed for a positive pregnancy test. So the tests don't mean anything one way or the other at this stage.

I really hope it works out for you.

Hi notquitecockney! I had a scan at 7+6 and they said the baby was only the size of 6 weeks have had to wait 2 weeks to get rescanned and see what is happening. I am positive of my dates as my dh was away after my ovulation period and it would of meant that I tested positive at 2 weeks pregnant!! I could be out by 4 days if I ovulated late and it took a while to implant but not 2 weeks out. They saw a flicker but wouldn't commit to whether it was a heartbeat I also have no sickness so obviously fearing the worst. xxxxx

Hmm, sizing at that point is pretty much a guess. Have you had any pg symptoms? Not being sick isn't necessarily a sign - but having symptoms that go away too early is definately a bad sign.

Have you had any m/c before? How pg are you now?

hello victoriaboo

you probably wont want to hear from me and this may not be true in your case and i really hope it isnt i wouldnt want anyone to go thro what i have but...

yes you do get positive tests after miscarriage i had a a missed miscarriage four weeks ago i had a scan at seven weeks four days as i had a little bit of brown blood and my baby was fine it had a heartbeat and everything they said the blood was off a little bruising round the sac from implantation and then i went for my normal scan a few weeks later and the baby had died at seven weeks six days i had no pain or nothing my hormone levels and everything where sill really high and as soon as the hospital give me tablets to supress my hormone level i miscarried at home the following day that was 12th and preg test was still positive on 25th when i tested. this might not be the case with you though everyone is different i really hope all goes well good luck and take care be positive...

Dont worry, I know easier said than done but even if your dates are out by 4 days it will make a hugh difference on what they can see on a scan.

Just because you have not had morning sickness doesn't mean anything is wrong I didn't start suffering till I was 8 weeks gone and I suffered bleeding all the way through my 1st pregnancy, which seems to be repeating itself this time round, my ds was fine even though he put me through hell worrying.

I hope everything is fine.

I wasn't very far on when I miscarried only about 5 weeks, so maybe this doesn't apply but I started spotting on monday and by wednesday I had a totally negative test. So I don't really think you can tell.
It must be so hard for you waiting, but if you have read any threads on here there are so many positive stories, hopefully soon you will be writing about your positive outcome too. Good luck, I'm thinking about you. XXX

Hi ladies,

I'm Sally & it's my first time here.

I've just had IVF which was positive, but sadly t 5 weeks I have miscarried one baby. hoped that I still had a chance with the other one but my HCG has gone from 67 to 209 in 48 hours, then slowed to 209 to 426 in 120 hours the day after the miscarriage.

I have had VERY dark HCG tests at home but today, 3 days after the miscarriage I've had 2 negative tests. PLEASE can anyone tell me if I would be getting negative tests at home so soon after i've had a miscarriage...i am very scared.

Sally x
