Okaay so around half an hour ago I woke up feeling really really hot and sweaty and like I was going to be really sick. Ran to bathroom and went to the loo, then sat back on my bed and contractions have been coming about every ten minutes or so.
All evening I had been getting a cramping / stabbing pain in my lower abdomen. My waters haven't broken though.
I'm 37+5 days and this is my first so have no idea what to expect.
Contractions feeling like my whole stomach going rock solid and like intense period pains all over it.

Sounds pretty much like labour to me. Try to rest if you can until contractions are 5 minutes apart, then head into your labour ward/suite. If you've felt sick already, you may vomit again, it's pretty common, if unpleasant. Just remember, every contraction is one closer to meeting your little one! Good luck! Flowers

Sounds like it, is there someone with you?

Yeah I'm at my parents atm. Keeping everyone up so they're prepared in case I need to go in, I'm trying to rest as much as possible

You do realise that we're part of this now, don't you OP? We want all the details and photo, and an invitation to the christening, birthday parties, wedding etc? Grin we've just had a baby on another thread, 8lb5oz and beautiful, so you can't let us down......

I rang the hospital and they said to wait till I'm getting more regular pain. Well I managed to get a tiny bit of sleep and when I woke up all the contractions I've been having have stopped Confused this baby's decided he didn't want to show today but it's left my with a very achey and sore stomach!

Maybe go for a walk and see if that starts things off again. If they have stopped dont think of it as labour as stopped it's just slowed down as baby might not be ready. Have a bounce on a ball if you have one too x
