I'm 39 + 4 days pregnsnt and the past 2 days I have had a awful pressure feeling around my bum hole. It hurts when I sit down and when I try (cannot bear to go today for fear of pain) to go to toilet.

is this normal?

I had a emcs with ds as he was transverse and never had braxton hicks or a pressure feeling so this is all new to me. Xx

I don't recall anything like that with either pregnancy. Could you be constipated? Piles? Have you had a look/felt the area?

Call your midwife tomorrow?

Steph1502 · 26/05/2015 22:05

Sounds like it may be piles to me tbh. I'd make an appt with gp or midwife tmw. Either tht or baby is very low down?

I do feel A little constipated. I'm scared to go as it feels like a bowling ball is wedged up there. sorry very weird way of describing it. I have a csection booked on Thursday shall I wait or best to speak to midwife before? X

I would consider getting checked, my friend had lots and lots of rectal pressure, tried to force a poo as she couldn't stand it any more and gave birth on the loo Shock

Not a single contraction pain did she feel, just in her words 'intense arse ache' Grin

Highly unlikely to be so in your case, but something to be aware of.

Gobblers......omg ur poor friend. I have been getting bad braxton hicks on and off for the past week.

I will call midwife tomorrow just incase x

Definitely sounds like baby rather than poo to me - do get checked out. My first was a bit like this.

I wonder if the baby is back to back? My DC2 was born back to back (although I'm not sure he was that way round right through labour) and the rectal pressure during second stage labour was incredibly intense. I had a pain memory of it for months after every time I went to the toilet. The pressure was presumably the hard part of his skull pressing down. I would get it checked in case you're in early labour. Good luck!

I am currently 37 weeks pregnant and am experiencing pressure in my bottom. I experienced this during labour on my daughter. My contractions were actually in my bottom. Some women have contractions in their back , stomach , bottom. It varies as does every pregnancy. There is no right or wrong when it comes to labour. So to that woman asking is it normal I have also experienced rectal pressure contractions.
