Ovulation blood test & Sperm analysis

Hi
I hoping someone may have some advice or knowledge that can help me out.
My partner & I have been trying to conceive for a while now! I recently had a blood test done on day 21/22 of my cycle to check to see if I had ovulated. When I rang the doctors for the results I was told by a a receptionist that the doctor said it was fine! So I'm presuming that I am ovulating ok!?
My partner recently did a sperm sample too. When phoning for the results we were told that the doctor said it was ok but the normal form was 1% but should normally be 4% or more and to repeat it again in 3 months. What does this mean? When I asked further questions we were told again it was ok!
We are currently waiting for an appointment with the GP to discuss it further!
I'm becoming a little stressed with it all and I'm starting to feel like this is never going to happen. I feel like I'm starting to obsess which I know won't help the situation.
If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance. Smile

Don't worry. I was in exactly the same place - ovulation test suggested I ovulated (even though clear blue said I didn't and the 21 day test score wasn't great) and partner was due to repeat test due to borderline results. That month we conceived! Neither of the results has suggested a big problem so I wouldn't worry too much.

As an aside I can pinpoint when we conceived that month and it was Day 10 so we'd been trying at the wrong time around 12-15

Good luck!

Ask for a print out of the sperm analysis (which you are entitled to) and compare it to the WHO national statistics. I became an expert when I was in your boat a few months ago. I am now 2 months pregnant

Thanks for that advice MissTwister. The doctors surgery really aren't helpful. So frustrating. I'm starting to think my mind is over thinking everything! If you don't mind me asking Glindathegoodwitch, how long has it taken you to conceive? Is it your first?

Check with your doc about your blood tests. Receptionist told me mine was 'normal' but when I spoke to the doc I hadn't ovulated. I was almighty peeved off at this but ended up pregnant that same month, ovulated around cd28 for some reason!

It took me 8 months Jade - this is my second child but 10 years since 1st.

My partner's normal form on his first test was 0.5% and his second test was 36%!! I must admit that I did put him on well man conception vitamins and reduced the alcohol where possible.

Good Luck Flowers

I asked my husband to cut down on drinking significantly. And stop having really hot baths!

JadeS16 · 27/05/2015 13:49

We're both taking vitamins to help. I'm also trying to get him to stop having hot baths. I've got a few period type pains today but AF isn't due for another week. I'm not sure its its something or I'm just reading into it too much Hmm

Hot baths can't apparently have a massive impact and my husband used to take them every other night for ages!
