So I have just got up to make breakfast this morning feeling absolutely fine, I have had a slight cold this last week but nothing major.
Now I coughed as i lent over to put the kettle on to my shock a fair bit of water came out, now I'm not talking a lot at all more like a big trickle.. This is my first baby and I have no idea what to expect when my waters break in fact I have been quite nieave in thinking it's never going to happen! Now my parter had literally walked out of the door for work when this happened?!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I don't want to run a risk of infection nor do I want to call the midwife and my partner if I have just peed myself.Blush

Ooh I'm glad I spotted this thread, I've hit a lull at work and need a bit of excitement! Hope you're ok Cgow and good luck!! Smile

CarrotPuff · 26/05/2015 15:26

I don't think the bath is advised before the labour is established if your waters have gone.

Good luck op, sounds very much like labour to me!

How exciting. Don't worry about what's to come. You can only face what's actually happening right now. What will happen later isn't for you to fret about. It might increase gradually, it might never hurt more than it does now. It will end, you will manage. Do not be frightened to ask for drugs if you need them. You aren't alone in this. You, your baby, your partner and a whole team of medics will get you to the point where you're holding a tiny baby and this bit is over with. Have faith, you're nearly there.

Shameless marking my spot.

Bets on? I'm expecting baby at around 11pm.

WannabeLaraCroft · 26/05/2015 16:29

Tomorrow morning, 4am!

Cgow · 27/05/2015 02:25

Thanks for all the advice! After going to the hospital at 2pm I was admitted to the labour ward (after almost being sent home) at 5cm dilated!!
Little one finally made an appearance at 00:14 but after all that time in labour with no pain relief 2 hours of solid pushing I had to have a suction cup to help, after one final push she was her! unfortunately had a poo and swallowed a large amount! And I haven't been able to cuddle her at all but she is beautiful weighing a healthy 8.5 lbs! So any ladies waiting for there first baby take it from me it is more than possible I'm a whimp and I did it!! The end result outweighs any pain you may feel!! X
