Hi all

I am 6 weeks (yipee Grin) with my 3rd pregnancy. With my last pregnancy, I had a missed miscarriage which was absolutely heartbreaking. We found out by the 9th week as I had been spotting and was being monitored at my local hospital.

We are delighted to be pregnant again but I am so stressed and fearful of losing another baby. I don't think I could cope with getting to the 12 week scan to be told out baby had passed away.... I was thinking it would be a good idea to pay for an early pregnancy scan so we would know how things are progressing and wondered if anyone had any recommendations of any ultrasound clinics in london (central or southwest)

I had a mmc last year too so understand your anxiety.

I would recommend baby bond. As far as I know there are a few of them across the country. They were really lovely too :)

I used babybond in Wimbledon for a scan at 7-8 weeks. They were really lovely.

I also went to the Foetal Medicine Centre on Harley St for the harmony test and associated scans - they were great too.

Good luck!

I had early scans at Parkside hospital in Wimbledon and the other scans at the FMC in Harley St as well. Both great but FMC is the expert place to go ( or was 8 years ago at least!). Good luck.

Thanks everyone. Will try babybond in Wimbledon as its just down the road.

I would really recommend the FMC - they are real experts and no more expensive than anywhere else. Well worth the trip into town. If you have your first scan around 10 weeks it comes part of a very good value package along with the Harmony (I couldn't wait and had one at 8w too).

I'm scanning with Guy Thorpe Beeston at Ultrasound Diagnostic Services on Harley St. Also had the Panorama test there. I can't recommend him highly enough. He was recommended by my consultant, who had him scan her for her own pregnancies. He's a consultant who specialises in high risk pregnancies and fetal medicine. Good luck!

congratulations!! i think it's a great idea to set your mind at rest, but as you had a MMC before, are you sure the NHS wouldn't do it for you early? i may be wrong, but i thought people who had miscarriages before would get an earlier scan?

lovely news, all the best for you!

I also used FMC and cannot praise them enough. They were fantastic.

scarednoob unfortunately not unless you've had more than three. I asked this when I got pregnant again and was informed that I was at no higher risk than anyone else.

Hi

I had an early scan at 8 weeks as I had some brown spotting and worried about an MMC.

It was one of the best things I could have done to reassure myself.

I would highly recommend it and probably do the same for any further pregnancies too s this is only my first.
