I have heard of people adopting various positions to 'encourage' the baby to get itself head down and in the correct position. True? If so what positions? And when to start?

Sleep on your left side! I used a bolster to prop between my legs - more comfy for the hips and keeps you in position. I slept that way for months, as soon as I couldn't sleep on my back any more

Birthing/exercise ball. Sitting with your knees below your pelvis.

Spinning babies is a good website with lots of positions to try depending on where your LO is lying.

Thanks, that link is really useful. I have a bit of a fear of the baby not being in the right position. Its currently (30wks ) laying crossways head to the right. :-(
