Number 1: 18 hours from established

S2b16 · 23/05/2015 21:09

Omg so they are all pretty fast then. He's self employed so can't take much time off so we're scared he misses it, 8 weeks to go tho, thank you all for replying xx

I'm hoping for about 8 hours too, I have group b so would rather he had anti biotics via me, and that would give dh time to get home.....don't want much I know ha ha. Know he'll come when he comes, but we can wish xxx

None of my labours were quick.

DC1 21 hours
DC2 12 hours
DC3 5 hours

All spontaneous labours within five days of the due date.

S2b16 · 23/05/2015 21:31

Thanks drama, heard some people say their 3rd labours were the longest but looking at comments they are quicker than 1&2 x

Ds1 27 hrs 2 days overdue
Ds2 16 hrs 3 weeks early!
Dd1 born 4 weeks ago exactly on due date! 7 hrs and the easiest!.

LongDayAlready · 23/05/2015 22:10

DC1 13 hours
DC2 6 hours
DC3 20 hours.....

In fairness it wasn't constant and only really got going in the last four hours or so but it was the most stop/start of them all. Started in the evening, stopped about 1am so I went to bed, woke again about 5, stopped again. Had a HB and kept having to keep walking sideways up and down the stairs to get it going again.

He was also 9 days late and at age 3 is a pretty laidback little boy - maybe that was part of it. MW did tell me that 3rd labours can be very stop/start.

DC4 due Sep - no idea how that'll go.

Very best of luck to you. x

Thank you for your replies, long day good luck for dc4, I hope it all goes well. X

ds 1 7 and a half hours
ds 2 6 hours
ds 3 1.41 I was induced with him Smile

CointreauVersial · 23/05/2015 22:34

Pretty quick. I'd had a good few hours of twinges, but was still reading a book 40 minutes before DD2 arrived. I was just demanding an epidural when her head came down. Grin

needadvice321 · 23/05/2015 22:59

I wasn't sure I was in labour at 8am was holding him in my arms at 9.15. Would have been quicker except I had to try not to push him out in taxi!! I am Gbs positive and baby fine despite no time for antibiotics, fast delivery helps reduce risk.

3littlefrogs · 23/05/2015 23:02

45 minutes

bakingtins · 23/05/2015 23:04

1st labour 7 hours, 2nd 2 hours, 3rd 80 mins ( from first contraction)

Besta · 23/05/2015 23:23

No 1 - 4 hours (pushing stage 1.5)
No 2 - 4 hours (pushing stage 1.5)
No3 - 2 hours 11 mins (pushing stage 11 mins!)

S2b16 · 23/05/2015 23:28

Oh dear, really appreciate all your replies. I think dh better prepare himself for missing birth (he has a 5 hour drive home) unless ds comes on a weekend. What will be, will be I guess. That's great needadvice, really reassuring about gbs thank you x

1st - 22 hours
2nd - 4 hours
3rd - 2 days of start stop contractions and then 4 hours once established. OH was convinced this one would be 5 days late as the other 2 were, so thought it safe to go to Italy for work. Typically everything kicked off the first night he was away!!

tomatodizzymum · 23/05/2015 23:29
  1. 38 hours
  2. 7 hours
  3. 1.5 hours
  4. 4 hours

Number 3 was a lot smaller than the other three, my fourth was the biggest, no logic really.

tomatodizzymum · 23/05/2015 23:30

My husband missed number 3 as well, he was still dropping 1 and 2 at my mums.
