Is this pain/twinge normal?

Can anyone put my mind at rest?
I'm almost 14 weeks pregnant and everything's been hunkydory so far (touch wood). However, this week, I keep getting this twinge/brief pain on my left or right hand side of my abdomen just above my pelvis.
It only happens when I stand up from sitting or lying down (and occasionally if I stretch or move in a certain way), it doesn't happen all the time, it seems to be when I move quickly and it goes away almost immediately.
I'm guessing it's cos my body's changing and muscles are working in different ways, but just wanted to see if this was 'normal'.

Thanks

"I'm guessing it's cos my body's changing and muscles are working in different ways, "

yes...you are more than likely right! there are a huge amount of physical changes occurring right now especially as your uterus expands and moves u pout of the pelvis...

there will be a lot more twinges and niggles to come!!!

any sharp stabbing pain that persists or is accompanied by bleeding should be checked out.....

what you are experiencing is normal IMO..

congratulations on your pregnancy!!

Thought I'd probably answer my own question! No bleeding, just this sharp pain, guess I'm just paranoid (isn't everyone!).

Thanks very muh

I had a sharp pain on my left hand side at the top of my hip bone from about 10 weeks. I was convinced there was something wrong but I've now had 4 scans and I'm 21 weeks and so far so good. They keep telling me it's "ligaments"

I agree - I was always told it was 'ligaments' for that pain and that it would not be nearly as bad with second or more pregs - sure enough, didn't get it with 2 or 3.
