Baby's growth

Hi , I went to see my midwife this morning, up until today baby was growing ok but, now he's only measuring 36cms and I'm 38+2
.
Just wanted to know if this anything to worry about or not ?

Did MW seem concerned, refer you for scan?

I wouldn't say so. One skew whiff measurement doesn't mean a small or big baby or that the baby has stopped growing. Usually, the midwife will see if a pattern develops over 3 or more weekly measurements before they start looking into it.

It can be to do with the baby turning or lying funny as well.

I consistently measured 1-2cm less than my weeks with DD. She was born at 39+4 at 7lbs 2ozs.

Nothing to worry about, if they aren't sending you for scans etc then don't worry!

my friend was told her baby was going to be small and worried herself sick. especially as nobody had ever told her (or she didn't listen!) to cut down caffeine, so she'd been nailing tea and coffee, so she was killing herself with guilt when someone tactless pointed it out to her at 36 weeks.

he was nearly 9lbs and is the most active 1 year old I've ever seen!

The midwife has booked me in to see her again next week too just to check measurements again .
She said they may refer me for a scan just to check .
Has just worried me x

I wouldn't worry too much.

I have measured as little as 2cm smaller and 3cm bigger during this pregnancy!

I think it depends on how much you have in your bladder, position of baby and who measures you.

I am on a grow program and the scans have been fairly consistent whilst measurements have not.
