Pushchairs for jogging

Does any one have any advice for what the best pushchair would be for jogging with (I hesitate to call what I do running!)?

My brother-in-law is an obsessive runner. They did loads of research (apparently) into what pushchair he could take running and ended up buying an uppa baby Vista.

They got theirs off eBay and it's lasted pretty well considering it must be around 5-6 years old and their ds is BIG.

I'm getting the same in July as it felt the nicest to push round the shop. I don't run or jog and am certainly not planning on taking it up! Wink They aren't cheap, but they do seem to give good legroom.

Brother-in-law hasn't once complained (as far as I know) about it when he goes running. Though my nephew is nearly 2 now so wants to run as well, which is obviously a problem for brother-in-law as he is training for serious running not entirely suitable for tots!!!

I have the old style mountain buggy, (can find them on eBay) but I run across a variety of terrain such as fields and bridle paths. I do also have the baby jogger summit X3 which is also fabulous for jogging/running, have pushed dc in both for about 10 miles quite happily.

I have an uppa baby vista-
Good pram but I'd never run with it, it's tall and heavy you need something with a low centre of gravity imo.
I have run with a baby jogger city mini- goes a treat, child is nice and low and you can steer with one hand.

Look at BOB buggies - sport specific

AliceInHinterland · 21/05/2015 21:31

I like my out n about nipper sport, extremely light and relatively cheap, although I haven't solved the problem that if you run into the wind it's like a sail - presume that's always a problem though?

BOB ones are the best according to all reviews I've read

Depends on how many pushchairs you will have and how much space you have...

I was offered a Bob sport specific buggy to borrow and it would have been great to use but I would then have needed another for bus rides/ town walks.

I got a Red Castle Sport 2. It's a 3 wheeler where the front wheel can be fixed for running or released to swivel for everyday use. I used the lie flat car seat facing me for the first 6 months as I liked looking at my baby whilst walking/jogging. It has a large basket underneath to put shopping in. I adored it.

I tried out the Nipper 10k and loved everything about it bar the fixed height of the handlebar. For some reason the twin version was a different height which was perfect for me!

I would have loved a Bob had I the space... .(note, I've never used one though)

bugaboo have just released a new jogging buggy

We picked up a secondhand mountain buggy from eBay for about £50. It's great.

We have an Uppababy for day to day around town, but it really wouldn't be suitable to run with (serious running that is, not a buggy fit/pram attack class).

Thanks all - plenty to investigate

We have a bob and it's great. Also heard the out n about nipper sport and baby jogger summit are good.
