I just saw this on the news - my physio told me to take it constantly for my hip pain. I only bothered for a few days though...sigh

Limit paracetamol in pregnancy, say scientists - www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-32808969

Do you know the sex? If your baby's a girl then there is absolutely no risk from the sounds of things.

Even if you're having a ds, I wouldn't stop your treatment. It's been suggested you take it by a healthcare professional not some man down the pub! However, if you're really worried talk to your mw about tens machine - a couple of years ago I had 3 slipped discs in my spine and was on cocodamol, naproxen etc...it was messing with my digestive system so I started to use a tens machine. It helped me take fewer drugs though didn't completely take the pain away.

That study was on mice. Not even pregnant mice! A lot more studies need to be carried out to provide meaningful data. The current recommendation is that paracetamol is ok to take while pg. They wouldn't keep saying this if it wasn't true!

I hope your hips improve - keep up with the physio, it's a pain doing the exercises they give you but well worth continuing with Smile.

Thanks ARV I actually stopped taking it as it didn't do anything! Just hate how advice changes so much so often

And I don't know what I am having its a surprise!

Me too, I'm having a surprise! I am intensely curious about whether it's a boy or girl, but want that "it's a ..." moment when I have it!

I also hate the way advice changes, but in this case it hasn't - not really. That headline is very misleading (as most science headlines are). The study isn't 100% conclusive so don't worry too much about it. News reporters love to give us pregnant women something extra to worry about! The pigs.... Grin
