Early Labour Signs

I'm 36+6
Had midwife yesterday who said baby is 2/5 engaged with head down. After the appointment I started to feel even more pelvic pressure than normal and a stabbing almost in the vaginal area. Carried on through the day as normal though. Come bedtime however it was getting worse and to add to it I've been getting bad twinges in my lower back which come every minute or so. Bad heartburn and acid reflux to top it off. I haven't been able to sleep yet, instead of been back and forth to loo about every 15 minutes. No sign of mucus plug or waters breaking but I do feel really unsettled. Anybody else get this and could it be early labour signs?

No real answers for you but I was about to start a thread with pretty much these exact same symptoms. I'm 37+1 with dd2 and got all the same things as you plus (sorry if tmi) losing bits of mucus on and off but nothing massive and keep having bursts of nesting too. Just feeling rather restless and uneasy the past day or so.

I didn't get ANY warning signs at all with dd1 so I'm watching for every sign possible with this one! If baby's movements reduce or you're worried by anything ring your birth centre and get reassurance Smile Hope everything goes well for you when you do go into labour and for the rest of your pregnancy Smile

I'm in a similar place to you at 38+1. In the last 48 hours I've had lots more braxton hicks, backache that comes and goes and much more pressure in my pelvis. I keep expecting things to kick off in the night but they haven't yet. I really, really, want the baby to come soon - I can't imagine another week or more of this.

First time around I had a show (haven't yet) and then my waters went spectacularly the next day - so no doubting that one! Good luck and solidarity to you both :)
