I have a 6m DS. Me and DP have DTD a handful of times since he was born using condoms imperfectly.

Last few days, hungry as hell and boobs "tingling", and I have that gut feeling.

Fuck.

I did POAS today, but is too early to tell yet and it was negative. Not reassured though as not due till next week.

Can I get symptoms this early, even before a HPT can detect it?

Don't want to have to be making decisions like this already!!!

Help.

PS- would not be end of world if
I was, but really really not ready yet!

I hope you get the outcome you want but just wanted to say you can get symptoms that early i suddenly went "intolerant to eggs" for a good week or so before my period despite having them usually every day for breakfast i couldn't hack them they made me feel sick. I did a test and i got a negative. I started feeling tired and sore boobs then but not my usual period symptoms and wasn't convinced so i did another the day i was due to come on and now i'm 34 weeks pregnant with twins.

Can definitely get symptoms that early. My first pregnancy i knew about 5 days before I got a positive HPT. My boobs were definitely not their normal selves.... though i've not been able to tell in subsequent pregnancies....

Best of luck!

Defo get symptoms early, I was sick a week before positive home test.

I always wonder though how do you get symptoms if you're not pregnant enough to get a bfp. Unless the hcg is not what causes the symptoms I guess. What else is there in the body at that point? Can't remember the hormones that come into play so early.....

I didn't think you can get symptoms early, but with this pregnancy I did, just under a week before I missed my period. But that said I've had symptoms without being pregnant too.

Skiptonlass · 21/05/2015 11:14

You can get symptoms early. Other hormones are at play even if the hcg isn't very high. I was puking and felt like crap four days prior to the positive test. I was absolutely sure I was knocked up and voila... A few days later, a line. The line itself was well before my period was due.

Hope you get the result you want !

I know what you mean about the hcg levels but I guess there must be other stuff going on that give you the symptoms too. My OH knew before I did that I was pregnant because my boobs couldn't stand going over speed bumps. Honestly, agony. I'd done a pregnancy test and it had come back negative but then missed my period and now very preggo! So yep, your body knows very early!

I hope it works out ok though, and you might just be having some random symptoms and not be pregnant? You'll have to let us know! :-) x

The hormone responsible for the symptoms is progesterone which plays a huge part in your cycle regardless of if you're pregnant or not. That is why many symptoms of pregnancy and af are confused with each other. Hope that helps :)
