Not feeling movements but think they're happening

Hiya - I'm 37+6, FTM.

As of yesterday (not sure when, I was rushing about all day so not paying attention) I am not feeling my baby's movements as much as I was before - although I am definitely feeling some squirms etc. I am concerned and going to go and do the sugary drink/lying down thing shortly but I have just noticed while I've had my laptop on my lap (resting just above my belly button) that it is definitely moving (which has happened consistently with the baby's kicks since about 28 weeks) - but I'm not feeling the kicks. Is that something that would be considered normal at this point?

Also - probably unrelated but I keep getting a strange sensation at the very tip top of my uterus - just a slight tightening/tingling, not painful and the rest of my bump doesn't feel like it's contracting/bh. I've had no pre labour symptoms to speak of - increased secretions over the last few weeks is all, really, and my knickers were a little damp yesterday but not enough to make me think waters were leaking (not that I would know what to look for if they were). Oh, and I have a UTI that was picked up on a urine test on 13th and hospital only contacted me to let me know and sort out antibiotics yesterday (which I did straight away).

Thoughts??

Any change in movements should be reported to your midwife who will probably want you to go to the hospital for monitoring.

I had a change in movements at 37 weeks and went down to be checked, all was fine, but am glad I went :)

Always best to get checked, call your midwife and get seen to. Probably nothing but best to make sure.

Get checked. We can't reassure you that your baby is ok. (Although he/she probably is)

You must call your mw or hospital and go be monitored.

OP did you go in? I recognise your name as a fellow Junebug - hope all is well.

Did the cold/sugary drink and lie down thing and felt more than 10 movements in an hour, although some smaller than usual. Phoned in and MW confirmed my suspicion that my placenta has probably shifted and she's likely engaged now I'm just not feeling them in the same way as before - told me to go in if I noticed any decrease over the course of the day, which I've not (if anything she's kicking more now and this is her usual time for a roll around). Also said the tip of my uterus thing may well be a foot (!) or a weird braxton hicks thing and that if my waters were leaking I'd feel more than just a bit damp. So she dismissed me basically but she was very nice about it and I accept her reasoning - she said if anything causes me concern tonight just to go in :)

Sounds positive. Don't hesitate to go in if you're worried though.
