What's obstetrics?

I've just received letter for a follow up appointment?
I had my 12 weeks scan last week and bloods taken all seemed good although I haven't had my results yet.
Just abit worried about this letter? Is it what you all get? Thanks

Hi MummyPiggy. I wouldn't think it means something's wrong, I believe they would phone you if there was. Maybe try and call them and ask what is the reason for the follow up appointment? Try not to worry - it seems all hospitals have different rules/procedures in place anyway! Good luck
