Unless you have severe cramps probably to one side and maybe bleeding. There's no need to worry about ectopic, it's not at all common. Unless there is any cause for concern you won't have a scan till 12ish weeks if you're in the UK. Is there any reason why you're concerned?

Hi this is my first post and not really sure what to say...
But I found out I'm pregnant last week Cbd said 1-2 weeks I had lower back pain and cramps so went to a&e where they sentenfor an emergency scan im only around 4 weeks so didn't think anything was going to be seen,
But on the internal scan it showed somthing on my right hand side the nurse told me that it's probably ectopic and it looks like my womb is clear but they couldn't be 100 percent they also took my blood which came back good for 4 weeks, I had a phone call later that day from the nurse she told me that they had sent my scan pics off for second opinion but they also said can't be 100 percent now I'm sat worrying like mad and not sure if I still should have a glimmer of hope or just except it's probably ectopic :/
Sorry for the long post just really looking to see if anyone else has had similar and what was the outcome

Collette, what are the next steps with the hospital? Are they going to do more hormone level tests? I would strongly advise that you request another scan to check what they saw, thry don't always get it right and hormone levels on their own can be misleading.

I'm sorry to hear what you're going through, it must be very stressful. I had a suspected ectopic last year which miscarried naturally. I say suspected because I'm still not convinced it was! They saw something on my left ovary but alot of other things can show, like harmless cysts. They never scanned me a second time.

So I would defo request another scan so that you know exactly what the situation is. It might just be that the pregnancy is too early to see properly in the womb? But if you have any pain at all I'd ring the hospital or just go up there because it can be dangerous.
Really hope its a happy outcome hun xxx

I suffered a ruptured ectopic and was aware from the start that something was very wrong, constant brown spotting, left side pain that intensified etc.

My friend had an ectopic and she knew from the moment she found out she was pregnant. She almost didn't test because of the cramping.... but then the cramping was just on one side so she tested and it was positive. The day after she started spotting and the cramps got worse. At 5 weeks she went for a scan and they saw it was ectopic.

I wouldn't worry... I believe the pain is quite distinct.
