Measuring on 95th centile at 31+5 weeks

Hi all,

Just looking for people's experience on the above really. I had a scan last week at 31+5 due to a decrease in fetal movement and they told me she was measuring around 35 weeks and weighing about 5lbs! My tummy is only measuring 31 weeks which is why it hasn't been picked up before. I had the test for gestational diabetes on friday and the results today were all normal and was told no need for extra monitoring. I was just wondering what size babies people have had after experiencing this and whether they went on to deliver at full term or did your little one arrive early.

I am in a similar situation, I have been measuring 4 weeks ahead since 28 weeks and had to have growth scans and has been measuring 95th centile. I am due dc2 in 10 days and had my last growth scan at 36 weeks. my gt test was also normal.

I have heard that the growth scans can be wrong, and that people have been told that they are measuring big/high centile babies and they have been born normal weight and with no complications.

I will keep and eye on your thread to see if any mums have had similar and what their outcomes were. hope all goes well with your pregnancy x

My first dc was had similiar measurements and we were told to expect a 9-10lber. She was 9 days late and 7 10. The woman opposite me had been told her baby measured very small and would be 4-5lbs. Her baby was 7 10 too!! I think the scans can be quite out!

Many thanks for both of your replies, yes I have also been reading stories where the weight is completely different to what they have been told. So that is very reassuring, although I don't mind a big baby I'm just paranoid about something going wrong after a miscarriage last year but that was when I was only 10 weeks. Im sure all will be ok as I only have 8 weeks left, just looking at other mums stories of the same situation!

My dd measured 5lb 10oz at 32 weeks, they told me she'd be huge, 3 days early, induced, weighed 8lb 1oz.
Dd2 measured small all way through until 28 weeks when I was given steroids for suspected pre-term labour, then she had a growth spurt and gtt was normal, think she was on 80th centile. 4 days late and weighed 8lb 11oz.
Dc3 on way and currently 4 weeks ahead but no growth scan as yet as he's following same line (pic) gtt normal and currently 30 weeks....expecting him to be an 8/9 lber

I measured big at that stage and ended up being induced at 40 weeks. The baby was 9lbs 7oz so yep, big! She was and is gorgeous though! She's remained on the 95th centile since (9 months old now)
