Sorry if TMI but I am 40+4 and suddenly constipated :(

Throughout pregnancy I've been taking lactulose and fybogel to keep things going, and it worked, but as of last night things have massively slowed down. Feel sick with it too.
Today I have:
eaten some prunes,
big salad for lunch,
drank a litre of apple juice just now in desperation Blush,
done a workout,
drank 4 litres water,
had 2 coffees earlier on which did something but feels like there's a big blockage still :(
I have some glycerine suppositories but I really don't want to use one, I hate it.

I thought you were meant to have a clear out at this point, not go the other way!!?

Am seeing a midwife tomorrow for a sweep (hopefully! On Friday baby's head was still free) so will maybe get some advice then. But waaaah! I thought this wasn't supposed to happen.

Still got reflux, not waddling and not had a show or anything so I doubt it's pressure from the baby engaging. That would be brilliant!

What can I do? So uncomfortable.

Prune juice and lactulose were my close friends from 20 weeks

BreeVDKamp · 18/05/2015 20:26

Yeah. As I mentioned I've been taking lactulose throughout. Not doing the trick any more it seems! Thanks though.

I'd use the suppository tbh - I had one mid labour last time!

Tin of fruit cocktail. :-)
