What BD pattern worked for you? Advice please!

Hope this is not TMI... we BD'ed last night and today I got a positive opk this afternoon - weird though as I did two - clearblue digital was negative but the cheapo was positive.

Anyway, I was wondering if it is worth BDing tonight. My DH had a very early start at 5am today so he may not feel 'up to it'! Is every other day ok at ovulation or do you up the BDing on the day and day after? thank you!

There are lots of ongoing trying to conceive threads on the conception board that might give you better answers.

We just had more sex when trying to conceive as we didn't want the pressure of doing it on certain days and the enjoyment being lost.

we used the clear blue digital and pretty much just shagged every night around the likely time. we also did it as often as we could be bothered possible to take the weird 'appointment shag' pressure off..

We followed the 'sperm meets egg' plan. As someone who wasn't particularly in sync with my cycle, I found it really useful.

We had sex the day before, day of and two days after positive opk. So four days in a row and this resulted in DS. Good luck!

Sperm meets egg plan is similr to what Hopelass is saying. When you get a positive opk you have sex that day and the following two days. We will try our best lol!

I think the sperm can live for up to 5 days, whilst the egg only lasts for 24 hours. so you can have sex up to 5 days before hand and the day after, plus we chucked in a couple of extra goes for fun and just in case my ovaries decided to have some fun messing us around! also i tried to stay in bed for about 20 mins afterwards with my legs propped up on the wall. i figured gravity couldn't hurt. and it didn't!

6 months of trying while attempting to pinpoint ovulation with vaginal mucus and/or or ovulation tests did us no good and made bonking rather joyless.

When we got cross with it all (and each other) and had a break (lots of drinking and smoking and generally being naughty) and just 2 recreational bonks that cycle we actually conceived!

I should also mention that I conceived 2 days before my period was due - which was not when we had been shagging. While I think ovulation was just late that cycle (due to lots of travel and stress), it demonstrates that shagging outside of what you think is your fertile period may also pay off for you.

Once I had a rough idea when ovulation was due (tracking using my fertility friend and OPKs) I would have sex for 4-5 days prior and then on the day the OPK got a smiley face, and the day after. Then nothing till next month as we'd be too knackered! Avoid saliva and used pre-seed lubricant.
I have been pg a lot.
