Second pregnancy about 8 weeks and I can't stomach the thought of a cup of tea, I'm a big tea drinker and usually have at least 4 a day! Anyone else gone off tea? I really miss a nice hot cuppa first thing in the morning! I went off it in my first pregnancy but only in the mornings, now I can't face it all day! BrewSad

I did too. Apparently it's something to do with your absorption of iron. Something in tea stops you holding on to iron and your body being the clever thing that it is, wants you to stop drinking it! Very weird and annoying for a tea addict like me.

My mother in law's not drank tea since she was pg with my DH!! Lol
I'm just pg (4 weeks) hope the same doesn't happen to me. I'm loving my Yorkshire tea decafs Brew

I've totally gone off tea this pregnancy but didn't with DD. I've tried different decaf versions but don't like them at all!

I completely went off tea. felt as though I'd never drink it again, but after dd was born I ended up loving it just as much as before.

I went off tea and the smell of coffee made me sick. After first trimester went back to normal and now I love coffee more than I did before!

Yes, I usually drink tea all the time, but couldn't face it at all up to about twenty weeks. Can stomach the odd cup now.

Wishingwell - I had the fishy taste thing too! Weird....

BabyBNumberThree · 13/06/2015 10:53

I've never liked tea but loved coffee until I was about 6 weeks. I've only managed 2 cups in the past 6 weeks. I never had this with my first 2 pregnant I've a boy and girl so no Ide why I have this time lol x

Yuck yuck yuck!! Not had tea since before bfp, should have known really! 17 weeks and not had a brew for months :( had to ask OH to move his away from me as I can't stand the smell either. I might get some fruit teas in, good idea.

I am a big tea drinker but for the first 16-ish weeks of pregnancy I couldn't drink it. Not because I didn't want to, but because it tasted completely wrong. It had a totally different taste to usual - very unpleasant - but then it went back to tasting normal at some point during my second trimester. Weird!

Yes! I’m 7 weeks and usually can’t start the day without a cuppa. Now I can’t stand the thought of it, or coffee. Hot water and lemon is about the only hot drink I can stomach at the moment. Can’t wait for it to pass!

Hi, I went off tea when pregnant with my son. I was a huge tea drinker. Still can't drink it and my sons 23 years old....!!!! Has this happened to anyone else?

halfpasteleven · 01/12/2023 13:24

I'm four years on from my second pregnancy and still can't bear tea or coffee..

Really miss them especially the tea at this time of year but I can't bear the taste and smell of coffee in particular.

Tea just tastes off..

I'm still hoping to get back liking ta in particular..
