Hi, I've been feeling a strange twinge for the last couple of days. Just wondering how normal it is. I'm only 7 weeks today and so far it's been a crampy pregnancy but for the last couple of days, in the evening really, I've felt a sort of twinge right down in my lady region. It's not a dull ache, it's a sort of twinge that makes you hone in but then it goes before it gets worse. If you've ever felt that sort of shooting pain in your bottom when you've got wind, it's a bit like that but in the other region. Hope that describes it well enough?

It lasts for no more than 1-2 seconds

I had this for weeks in early pregnancy, I've heard them referred to as 'fanny daggers' which although is a grim term is very accurate haha.

Totally normal, I had them in my bum too. I think it's just everything shifting x

Hahaha I've just laughed out loud at 'fanny daggers'. A very apt name. I had no idea I'd feel so much changing in these early weeks but I can really feel things shifting about down there. Could do without the fanny daggers though! Haha

Hahaha fanny daggers as a term is a good example of how glamorous pregnancy is!

It is strange isn't it, even when the baby is so small you feel loads of weird stuff going on down there. Everything from crampy feelings, aching, pressure and the dreaded daggers haha.

It's really strange. It's taken me by surprise because aside from sickness and tiredness I had no idea women really felt anything until the baby started moving later on in pregnancy. I'd just assumed your body changing happened quietly without you really knowing about it. Thanks for replying.

I was so surprised at the range of aches, pains, twinges and general malaise! And I had a really healthy pregnancy, these are the bits that people don't warn you about!
Implantation pain in the very early weeks, moves onto round ligament pain and then to "argh I am huge and everything hurts" pain at the end

I'm 10+5 and have been getting these for past few weeks too, I wouldn't worry. I keep thinking it's like the opposite of period pain, but it feels very similar to me. Congratulations on your pregnancy!
