Weight gain!

I'm 9 weeks and I've gained 7 pounds already Im constantly snacking to keep my nausea at bay. Concerned after reading 4-5 pounds gain was average for first trimester!
When I was expecting my dd I lost weight in the first trimester and actually only gained a stone during the whole pregnancy but I did have a bmi of 29 last time I got pregnant and this time it was 23 so I am smaller now. But this rapid weight gain is concerning me- anyone else gain a lot then it slowed or am I going to be huge at the end of this pregnancy?!

I'm 33 weeks pregnant with twins and i've put on 2 stone during pregnancy. I've only got 3 weeks left but i think i put a good 10lbs possibly even a stone on in my first trimester. This is my first pregnancy and i found out early on about 3-4 weeks i constantly felt sick and the only thing i could stomach was cheese sandwiches (even at 6am) plain crisps and sugary drinks then unfortunately for a couple of weeks i craved chocolates but since third trimester it's like i have no room left so can only stomach little and often meals (quite healthy) i've lost 3lbs in the last couple of weeks and babies are still 4lbs 1oz and 3lbs 15oz so far.
So you can keep an eye on your weight so you know you're not putting on too much but it might slow down too.

Lesson number 1 - don't bloody weigh yourself!

You're growing a human inside you. Don't be so hard on yourself! You'll probably find that you do plateau on the weight gain for a bit, snacking is fine, I've been doing it too, I'm just trying to swap out the biscuits for fruit or nuts when I feel yucky.

I gained an entire stone in the first trimester (this is a huge amount given that I am only 4'11 and around 8.5 stone usually), but have gained nothing at all since, and I'm now 28 weeks. I'm very glad of that scary extra weight, because I'm finding it hard to eat as much as usual now, and would be worried if I couldn't live off my hump! The guidelines are just guidelines and everyone is different.

Please, please don't worry about this. First of all, you'll find your appetite is completely bonkers in first trimester and this will calm down. For now, eat what you want when you want and don't worry about weight gain. You are growing another human at an amazing rate in these early weeks and your body needs fuel to do it. I ate my body weight in cheese and almond croissants weeks 5-9 this time around and I'm sure I gained half a stone (but don't know as I don't weigh myself anymore), but now I'm 19 weeks my appetite is back to normal.

And anyway, so what if you put on more than the 'charts' say you should? You'll no doubt lose it all afterwards in a nice healthy way.

I'm nearly 20 weeks with my 3rd baby and I reckon I've put on at least a stone,, definitely a dress size (and in some of the cruel maternity brands, 2 dress sizes!) and I'm hungry all the time. Trying to make sure that what I eat is nutritious (ie cheese sandwich rather than cupcake) but I'm not always successful and to be honest, as it's my 3rd, I know I can lose the weight afterwards because I've done it before. I'm too tired to care these days. With my daughter I lived on sweets and White bread and gained 3 stone. With my son I craved sushi and beetroot, and still gained 3 stone. This time, I've hidden the scales and now it's been so long since weighed myself, I daren't even step on them. I'd love to experience this 'loss of appetite' though....I haven't missed a meal all pregnancy, even through the 10 weeks of all- day nausea!

Thank you all for being reassuring. Its so weird how this pregnancy is so different to how I felt last time.
Today I've ate cornflakes, snack bar, 4 rounds of toast, 2 packets of crisps, 3 biscuits and about to have an m and a dinner literally stuffing myself and I feel starving?!

Yes I put on about a stone I think in the first tri, constantly chomping toast and biscuits and went from reasonably active to doing absolutely fuck all. I haven't weighed myself for a while but I'm 19wks now I don't think I've put ay more weigh on, belly has actually decreased if anything. I found when I had the sickness I'd be massively bloated all the time and I don't have that now. I've gone from a size 10 to a size 12/14 but I'm not in maternity clothes. I can still shoehorn myself into size 10 jeans but it is very uncomfortable and unattractive! I was upset about the rapid weight gain but fuck it I'll deal with it once I've had the baby.
