Hi as in the title I've got 8 faint BFPs on ics and one faint on a frer since Sunday. Do I class this as I'm pregnant as the lines don't seem to get darker. I rang my Dr and he referred me to midwife who didn't seem concerned that they were faint. She didn't even offer a blood test. Do I relax and say I'm pregnant or should I keep testing? Xx

Congratulations, I'd say you're definitely pregnant :)

rallytog1 · 13/05/2015 20:11

I'd agree. I think there comes a point where you need to stop testing! You haven't had a single negative so I think you're fine. My tests never got very dark either.

Oh, and that pregnancy is a 2yo dd now!

ebeaum1981 · 13/05/2015 20:14

Thanks :-) I asked on a different forum and was basically told that I might miscarry and to demand a scan or blood test! :/

Ring your midwife and explain your concerns, im sure they'll have some advice for you :) Everyone is different x

Any line however light is a positive, congratulations! I never loads of tests but my lines were always ones you could hardly see with both my pregnancies. I think some women just have more of whatever it is they pick up then others. You could try a digital test if you're worried but they are more expensive

sarkymare · 13/05/2015 20:36

A line is a line. It really doesn't matter how dark it is. You are pregnant congratulations!

HCG doubles only every 48-72 hours which is perhaps why your tests aren't getting any darker. I'm sure if you gave it a couple of days and tested again the line would be a bit darker.

Lauren83 · 13/05/2015 20:37

I had tests that didn't seem to get much darker, I paid for 3 HCG blood tests a few days apart, I had been warned it wasn't looking great but all ok for now I think. Good luck

CONGRATULATIONS!! Grin xx

My early tests were very faint, it took 2 weeks to get a good line, to the point were I was crying assuming I'd miscarried. I'm now 18 weeks

ebeaum1981 · 14/05/2015 01:10

Thank you everyone. You've all put my mind at rest :) I've got a frer and a digital so ill leave it another couple of weeks before I test again xx

I did daily tests after my first positive. Took 11 of them until they got darker. Am now 14 weeks

NorfolkEnchance · 14/05/2015 01:21

Also I found the line took a lot longer to darken on the cheap ones, first response much quicker

Lauren83 · 14/05/2015 07:11

Be careful with the digi, it took ages to show positive on that for me, caused me loads of stress

ValancyJane · 14/05/2015 16:51

I'm in the same boat, I'm finding that the internet cheapy ones take ages to go dark and don't bring up a great line... I googled similar ones at the same dpo and generally found mine were quite similar to other people's, which put my mind at rest.

Buy a clearblue digital.. No awful line reading. But I'm sure a line is a line!

Good luck :)
