Being induced

I'm 40+2 and have just being given a date to be induced due to severe SPD and other pains. I will be exactly 41 weeks. On my notes it says I'm 1-2cm dilated and 70% effaced. How likely is my induction to be successful? They say they can only do it if my cervix is favourable... Anybody got any stories to share?

You don't want to hear mine! I'm sure if you're already effaced it will be more effective; I was induced at 38 weeks and it didn't work, they tried again, still no joy. Tried to break waters but baby wasn't engaged and I had a section in the end ( out of choice ) because I was tired and wanted to get out of hospital. I've heard of lots of friends Who go overdue, get a date for induction, and then labour naturally the night before. I'm sure you'll be ok

My second baby was induced at 39wks a couple of weeks ago. Wasn't dilated but cervix was thin, so my OB could bypass pessaries etc and just rupture my membranes. Baby arrived about 6 hours later.

First baby was a similar story.

You'll be fine Smile

I was induced at 41 weeks due to reduced movements. I was 4cm dilated (had no idea until they checked) and baby was born 5.5h later from the start of induction. Hoping my second labour will be just as easy Smile
