Hi ladies

Just in need of general advice or experiences please..

Pregnancy has gone quite well so far to be honest apart from finding out i'v got a hematoma/bloodclot at 12 weeks at the left side of my abdomen.
Anyway i'm now 18+6 and since about 2 days I'v been getting awful constant headaches, naseau is back out the blue, and have really lost my appetite. I'm getting dull pains in my stomach too.

I don't want to go docs because I'ts all preg related i guess?! But don't get the random occurence. Anyone else experienced this?

I would go to the docs just in case if you're feeling unwell.

Hope you feel better soon!

Mrsrochesterscat · 12/05/2015 18:18

I can't think of any reason for those symptoms to be pregnancy related. Please call your maternity unit or OOH GP right away. You sound quite poorly.

Fatty12 · 12/05/2015 18:31

Thankyou. I just rang 111. She said she'll get a nurse to call me back. I guess it's worth just being on safe side..

You do need to be seen by a doctor OP.
Have you checked your temperature?

ApplesTheHare · 12/05/2015 18:36

Good luck OP. Also I wouldn't worry about getting stuff checked to be on the safe side in future. It's not worth taking risks over and that's why there are midwife drop-ins, etc. Hope everything is ok! Thanks

Fatty12 · 12/05/2015 18:48

Yeah, I guess you're right for future reference. I managed to make my way to work 2 hours late, manager glanced at me and said I suggest you go home and rest.

And I know this will sound silly but I don't have anything here to check temp with Blush Never checked it before..

Aw take it easy OP. You can buy it digital thermometers for about 99p off eBay (we never owned one until I had a baby) so might be worth investing. Sounds like you have a good manager there.

Fatty12 · 12/05/2015 19:22

Yeah definitely! I guess i'll need it more often once baby arrives too! X defo will be getting one, thanks xx

And yeah manager is amazing; and being a civil servant for just over a year, i'v had so much support through my pregnancy! Love it xx

That's great, the support of a good manager is fab once you get to 35+ weeks. Are you feeling any better?

Fatty12 · 12/05/2015 22:37

Well, I ended up being called to a&e, saw the doc and it's a urine infection which appears to be the cause. She's given me antibiotics.

I found the doctor/maybe GP, rather strange. She actually went through a text book with very small writing which I could barerly make out and by that gave me antibiotics. I'v never come across a doctor who has gone through a book, or maybe they have something similar but electronically.

I'm pregnant and have recently had the GP look at the book before prescribing, presumably to double check what it says about the safety or otherwise of a particular drug in pregnancy.

I hope the antibiotics kick in and you feel better very soon.

Whatabout · 12/05/2015 22:54

It's the BNF it allows them to prescribe you the best antibiotic for you given pregnancy. Standard thing to do. I have lots of allergies so they are always reading the book! GP may use an online tool.

Feel better soon, I had a uti at 18 weeks and it knocked me for six!

Mrsrochesterscat · 12/05/2015 23:21

OP I don't mean to worry you, but a UTI in pregnancy is very dangerous as it can cause spontaneous delivery at any stage of the pregnancy. I was kept in hospital until it cleared when I was pregnant. If you start feeling worse or get any other symptoms please don't wait to get medical advice. I hope you feel better soon.

Fatty12 · 13/05/2015 12:44

Oh, I haven't experienced that before. Good though as it shows they being extra cautious.

Mrsrochesterscat
Hmm, she said they would only be concerned if I was near the end of third trimester but because I'm early on in second trimester; the 7 day anti biotic course will be fine.. hmm
