I am ttc and not pregnant yet. I recent had a miscarriage so I am being over cautious and first time round we conceived very quickly so I am hoping it will be the same again. I have hay fever, running nose and sore sinuses causing headaches. The nhs website is vague, does anybody know what I can take or do I need to speak to the pharamist? - Who will probably think I am crazy as I am not pregnant yet.

I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage first off - sounds really hard for you.

I sympathise on hay fever - I get it year round, its awful. With regards to your meds, are you worrying because you fear you may be pregnant?

www.nhs.uk/chq/pages/935.aspx?categoryid=54 - there are things safe to take while pregnant and this nhs link explains what you can use safely

I have bad hay fever but used topical stuff - there's a nasal spray you can get which is safe for pregnancy I think the rest of the time I made sure I kept windows closed in the day, washed my face when I got in, keo bedro scrupulously clean as dust and pollen get everywhere!

Thank you everybody. I am not pregnant yet but I am planning to get pregnant soon and as I would be two weeks pregnant before I knew I don't want to take any medication that I shouldn't.

I've taken cetirizine throughout my pregnancy with DD and this pregnancy. My OBs haven't had a problem with it, and DD seems fine.

Loratidine is fine during pregnancy so should be fine when ttc. It's in the Boots and other brand anti-histamines. Stay away from anti histamines with decongestants in them

Prevails is the nasal spray I've been using through this pregnancy. It's completely drug free. It's not as good as the stuff I normally have from the Dr but it makes a little difference.

Nasal sprays and eye drops are seemingly ok. I can't take my normal meds; fexofenadine but there are some you can take. Whatever you do make sure you get it from the doc not OTC as you will get it free.

Saying that mind you my hayfever is usually terrible by now and so far it's not been bad at all!
