I feel like I need to, but as soon as I try to go the tiniest trickle comes out and that's it. But I still feel like I need to go!
I've tried rocking, leaning and touching my toes, breathing, all the usual stuff, but nothing is coming out! Been like this for weeks! So frustrating.
To top it off, it's making my stress incontinence a million times worse because my bladder is never empty! I think I'll have to start timing coughs and sneezes for while I'm on the loo!

Is it possible you have a Uti?

How far along are you? It could be baby's position on your bladder, either way speak to your midwife/GP .

I think you should be checked over for a UTI, they are common in pregnancy and often the only symptoms are the ones you describe. If your bladder isn't emptying properly then that can also lead to UTIs so you'd be safer being checkd out. Untreated UTIs can lead to contractions, early labour and infections in other places.

As previous posters, but also wanted to add that I have this problem sometimes even when I'm not pregnant (think my brain isn't wired up properly!) and what generally works for me is to turn the tap on a little and watch and listen to the trickle!

It'll be the baby's position. How far along are you? TMI coming up... When I was around 38 weeks plus; I could only go standing up. As soon as I sat down everything turned off, so I basically spent the final two weeks peeing into a (disposable!) jug Blush
If you're only around 6 weeks; I have no clue Grin

No chance of UTI, am having my urine regularly checked due to risk of pre-eclampsia and keeps coming back clear for any infection.

I am 17 weeks with twins. I have a MW appointment on Wednesday so will mention it then. (I would have gone before but there is a 4 week wait to see a MW, so haven't been able to get in.)

Hi i'm 33 weeks pregnant with twins and have also had this problem on and off for weeks. If there is no chance of a UTI you may be dehydrated?

Littlelady33 · 12/05/2015 12:05

I had this between 12 and 14 wks periodically. Wasn't a uti but due to retro verted uterus, it's not uncommon apparently. Trick for me was not to let bladder get full and to do a few squats!

I had this around the same gestation. I thought it was a UTI but dipped my urine at work and it was clear. I soon realized it was the way the baby was lying. Annoying, but it resolved within a few days!

weelamb123 · 12/05/2015 15:13

I'm afraid it's just the way the baby(ies) are lying. They make you think your are bursting for a wee when your bladder is only a little full. It's soooo annoying. xx

I had this when pregnant with twins - and I have retroverted uterus. It got bad enough to warrant a catheter, but think I was just unlucky. BUT if happens that you can't empty your bladder, you will need to go to A&E or to a nurse who can catheterise you, don't put up with too much discomfort. It was only this bad for a few days - the babies shift and you are free to wee normally again. If you search online you'll find it's very common complaint for retro-uterus women, but doctors and midwives don't always know about this.
