breech presentation

Just discovered today that baby is breech.
I'm 35+3. Scan booked for 38 weeks to recheck.

Trying to read up on how best to change baby's position. I know that walking is a key factor but I have rather bad pgp/spd so whilst I'm not on crutches, I'm very limited in movement.

I could try swimming but tbh getting in and out of pool is difficult (painful) as is getting to pool as not on bus route/driving becoming more difficult.

Does anyone have some fabulous tips?
I also have an exercise ball, but again become very uncomfortable on it. I am trying to sit on it for short periods though.

Oh dear, reading this back I'm awful negative.

Hope someone can help
Thank you

Hi, my baby was breech up to 37 weeks. I tried to spend time on all fours but it was just too uncomfortable. The most I did was lean over my ball and rock forwards and backwards. Only did it about 3 times for 5 minutes each time as I was also to uncomfortable. I was so worried that he was never going to turn but he did in the end. There's still time yet Smile

Dd was breech, Google 'spinning babies' which is a great website with tips to turn baby.
Something like 97% of babies are head down by 37 weeks, so you have plenty of time for baby to turn on their own anyway, so don't worry Smile(ignore anyone who says they don't have room to turn at this stage because they do!)

Oh thank you for replying.
So glad to here of baby turning despite limited ability to do all the suggested moves.

I've looked through the spinning babies website and I also don't think I could manage the moves suggested as you say Tori. Will persevere with the exercise ball.

The consultant did say baby on around 5lb at moment with plenty of fluid around them so should have room to move.

Fingers crossed!

I had the same. I booked in for a section and then 5 minutes before I went to theatre they scanned me again and she had turned. They nearly always turn on their own.

Mine was breech until 37 weeks, when it turned by itself.

I tried all the bizarre contortions - because why not, when you're desperate! - but the good news for you is that according to the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists there is no scientific evidence at all to say that certain positions or exercises will help turn the baby. So don't feel like you're failing by not being able to do them.

It's hard not to blame yourself when things don't go right, but this one's down to baby, not you. Hope it turns!

electro thank you for that!

Fingers crossed baby decides to move.

Thank you again for all your advice/experiences
