Sorry I know there are a few of these threads but they seem to be by women who are about 5/6 weeks pg. I'm 14 and a bit weeks, went to toilet this morning and when I wiped there was blood. It was brown and not clotting, no cramps apart from a mild ache (very similar to ovulation pains I used to get) on my right side.

Phoned NHS 24 at 7am, and still waiting on a callback. Have calmed down now, as she was asking me if I was cramping, clotting etc which I assume would be worst case scenario. But still anxious waiting on a call.

Pregnancy has been fine so far, scan 2 weeks ago was perfect. This is my 2nd pregnancy, never had anything like this with my DS!

Has anyone been in a similar boat? Will I get told to go for another scan? Pretty scared Sad

This is a worrying time for you. I can't answer your questions, but I'll send some positive thoughts your way.

I had bleeding at 6, 8 and 14 weeks, browny red blood and it was because my cervix was sensitive. Brown blood means old blood so if you have done the deed in the last week or so it could be from that, or just because your cervix is more sensitive when pregnant. Hope that helps.

Thank you so much for your replies Smile

The bleeding has stopped now so I'm trying to stay positive. We did have sex on Saturday, and yesterday I was getting stuck into housework so maybe overdid it there too? I'm clutching at straws I guess.

Just wish they'd phone so I can get a bit of reassurance!

I've had this a few times and like the above post it was just a sensitive cervix.

Anything can irritate it from sex to being constipated .

Stinkersmum · 11/05/2015 09:27

I would put it down to dtd... don't worry too much, as has been said, brown blood is old blood. I had a couple of 'shows' early on. No problems. Smile

Thanks guys Smile

Finally got a call back, call transferred to maternity unit at hospital and booked in for a scan at 11am tomorrow. Surely if they were more concerned they'd get me an appointment sooner? I've calmed down now, off work so will put my feet up.

I've had this, i had it for the 4th time last night it was like a thick discharge with red blood in it, panicked!! All is okay though, the uterus stretching is apparently the culprit for the pain/cramps

WannabeLaraCroft · 12/05/2015 12:51

Just a quick update - went for appointment and quick scan this morning, and all is well, thank goodness!! They think it's just cells in my cervix. They checked my ovaries and everything, couldn't see anything that could have caused it, so more than likely a weakened cervix or something.

Thank you for all your lovely comments Smile
