I suffer from awful sickness and the pregnancy vitamins are just too big I can't keep them down/swallow them.

What would you recommend to take instead? Could I take a multi vit or something similar?

There's lots of info on the nhs website under 'vitamins and nutrition in pregnancy' (don't know how to link, sorry)! The two key vitamins that are recommended are folic acid and vitamin D so you could just take those. Alternatively I'm still taking seven seas 'trying for a baby' vits as I've got some left - they've got folic acid, vit B and D and iron in them and they are absolutely tiny! They're in a box and a blister pack, so you could check they're small enough before you buy.

Hope you find something!

I'm taking the boots folic acid + vit D. They are tiny, about 2-3 mm across so very easy to swallow. They don't give you all the other stuff but they are fine to take all the way through pregnancy (this is my second and I took them all the way through last time). I did end up taking extra iron last time (prescribed) but that was due to having twins which really drained my iron reserves. Hopefully just one this time....anxiously waiting for 12 wk scan!

There's some folic acid in it but only 200mcg. So I take vit d & folic acid separate.

By the way, have you been on hyperemesis support thread? They were very helpful when I was really sick. They may have some top tips for you as well Smile

As I understand it, the folic acid is really only required in the first trimester. If you are able to eat healthily (without throwing it all up from the HV!) you shouldn't need to take any other vitamins. Make sure you spend a decent amount of time outside in the sun to get Vit D (best source of it) and you should be sorted!

I'm no expert. But I took the same ones with DS and he's fine.
