The pinky showings might be a sign! I didn't have any other signs than actually starting contractions but I was also impatient and from 37 weeks did everything I could to help the baby on its way! Going for huge long walks and drinking raspberry leaf tea seemed to do the trick for me - my baby was one week early.

sex worked with dc1, she came 3 days early and with ds, nothing worked, he came 5 days late!!

pinky showings - it could be your show! which is a sign of labour...in that your cervix is starting to dilate and thin in preparation for the birth...BUT.....you can have a show a week or two before baby arrives!!!! or they can come the same day! unfortunately...the estimated due date is just that...estimated!!!

38 weeks onwards is classed as full term......

and then there are things you can do to naturally encourage labour...

sit on a gym ball to bring baby;s head down

raspberry leaf tea to tone the uterus

sex & nipple stimulation - the prostoglandins help ripen the cervix

dont with the time away...if this is your first...rest if you can and conserve your energy.....baby will come...all in good time!

home birth...wonderful.....in water or no?

no house way to small!! we were supposed to move before now but buyer pulled and had numerous probs with purchase!

decided on home birth has they do a thing now where your midwife comes round ure house waits till your 8cms dilated then sends you in!!
I just think i aint doing all that at home to then get in a car, march up to hosp, settle in then finish last bit after all that!! so thought id just do it all at home probably very naive but hey de ho shall be giving it a shot!!!

fingers crossed lol

Apart from the physical signs, the day before I went into labour with both, I went on a cooking and cleaning frenzy - I made so many chicken casseroles that we ended up giving them away!
Good luck!
