when do you get a bigger one?

I'm 24 weeks now, so do I get one now or leave it as late as I can without being indecent? I'm a 36B normally and not exactly huge now. Maybe a C.

I know you are supposed to protect milk ducts but I don't feel inconfortable or anything.

It's best to go and get fitted whenever you have the time.

I used to be a bra fitter and I was trained in maternity and it is fine to wear underwires IF the bra is the correct size. But as you said if it isn't, and it wouldn't necessarily be Uncomfy, it could block the milk ducts if the wire rests on any breast tissue.

I used to fit women at 12 weeks onwards, they will usually get you in a bra that is one size bigger than your size so you have room to grow in it.

And also from experience, 34b was the most common size that people used to come into my shop with... They never left in that size though. So many people wear that size when they aren't so there's no harm in getting a fitting done. Just be carful were you go!

Bravissimo is a good one and john Lewis seem to be alright. It's also worth looking up independent lingerie shops near you as they usually have specialist training.

Avoid: M&S debenhams they are not great.

That's good to know, I wasn't keen on M&S anyway, there bras always make me look pointy a la Madonna! Thanks

I've got some really nice bras that I'm wearing in pregnancy and expect to see me through. The brand (Bravado) allows room for growth, so each bra is designed to cover two cup sizes 34 B/C, 34 D/DD etc. The ones I like best are called Sweet Pea - cotton with stretch, so super-comfy in warm weather.

I would recommend getting fitted first, but there are some really good deals online. I like Nursing Bra Shop for the free delivery and long returns period.

My boobs ballooned almost instantly, and it felt like I was squeezing into my bras (30D). I went to Mothercare at 9 weeks and a lovely lady gave me all the time in the world (even on a busy Saturday) until I found one I was comfortable in. Its not a million miles away from my size (new one is 32D) but so much kinder to my tender boobs - its non underwired and non padded ... something I thought I would NEVER buy!
Boobs seemed to have stop growing, so the two I bought should see me through until I need nursing bras.

So in short, I can recommend Mothercare! Good luck!
