Hi
Just wondering if anyone has any hypno birthing techniques that they have or are intending to use or recommendations on books?
With my last pregnancy i read a little beforehand and found it to help during labour and delivery just wondering if it's worth properly reading some books on it this time

I am reading "The Mongan Method".

Not really Hypnobirthing as such, but I did Lazy Daisy birthing classes that had lots of positive affirmations and visualisation techniques that really helped me.

Just finished reading the Mongan Method, also bought a Hypnobirthing CD from Amazon which I preferred - both were around the £10 mark I think. Due next week so I'll let you know if it works!

I like the Mindful Hypnobirthing book (Sophie Fletcher). We have done a one-day course but you can get downloads from the website also (£7.99 for four different tracks). It was excellent and realistic - only a month (or so) to find out if it will work!

I preferred Sophie Fletcher's book to the Mongan, but Katherine Graves is also good and has some good scripts for birthing partner to read too, in practice and during labour.

I like Katherine Graves book and the natal hypnotherapy cds. Used them in labour with DD and will use again this time round.

I would advise against the Mongan method. Unless you feel like blame and judgement are an integral part of hypnobirthing.

Thanks everyone hadn't heard of the Sophie fletcher or Katherine graves so will have a look into those!
