Sounds more like the whooshing sound of placenta to me.

Why? Are you worried about it?

Mariefairie · 04/05/2015 16:57

Not that I am worried and my midwife did listen to my babies heartbeat few weeks ago I just want to be able to find it myself but all I am getting is this. It's picking it up to 150-157 beats per minute but can't understand if this is the placenta because I know they sound so similar. If I am hearing placenta does this mean baby HB is very close ?

In order to find the heartbeat you need to know which way the baby is lying so that you can place the doppler over the back area.
If you place it over the placenta or cord, that is what it will pick up.

How many weeks are you?

The placental whooshing noise is produced by the baby's heart beating and pushing blood through the placenta. So it tells you what you want to know, that the heart is beating.

I think I did manage to find it

What do you think? Is this finally the baby? X
