I'm new to mumsnet so I hope I'm posting in the right place...

I'm currently 17+3 weeks pregnant with my second boy and finally over the nausea stage where I seemed to eat whatever I could just to feel better!! I constantly felt like I had a hangover everyday and the taste in my mouth was unreal at times!

I did gain a few pounds between week 4 and 14 because of it but because of my first pregnancy I seem to be thinking about weight gain and what's normal a lot more than maybe I should be?

My bmi with my first was already in the 'overweight' category, at only 4ft 11 I started at around 9st10 and I didn't batter an eyelid about what I looked like during the pregnancy, until my ds was born and I refused to have any photos taken of me with him...My biggest regret!!! All I know is that when ds was 6 weeks old I went back to slimming world weighing in at 11st. It took me a long time but I got to my target weight of 8st2 and I have hovered around that for a year or so.

We went on hols last sept, then had xmas and so I found out I was pregnant weighing 8st 8 - Considered a 'healthy' bmi but only just!!

So here I am, still going to Slimming world when I can face it, still trying to stick to plan most days but totally enjoying way too many syns most days!

So here's my digits:

17 + 3
Start weight - 8st 8
Current - 8st 13
Gain = 5lbs.

My midwife didn't even weigh me at my 16 week appoint ans I won't see her now until 28 weeks so i'm asking in here...Only if you want to share....

Thanks for reading!

There is no way I'm weighing myself, too much pressure. I'm not going daft but not over worrying either. What will be will be.

meeskamooska · 04/05/2015 20:06

This thread hasn't made me feel better at all! As I seem to have gained more than most Sad
30 weeks
Was 10 stone
Now 12 stone
2 stone up

ceebelle83 · 04/05/2015 20:37

I'm 25 weeks

Start weight: 10st 10lbs
Height: 5ft 5"
Current weight: 11st 11lbs Blush

Hope I can manage to avoid gaining more than another stone by d-day!!

MrsFbabyNo1 · 04/05/2015 20:48

3lb by 13 weeks (end 1st tri)
7.5lb by 20 week scan
15lb by 26 weeks (end 2nd tri)
22lb by 30 weeks (now)

So 1.5 stone so far. I'm not bothered as I still look non preg from behind / front so I'm guessing (hoping) all the weight gain is baby related! I'm all a bump up front.

Weighing myself on a monthly basis just out of interest really. Hope for 2stone gain and will be bf so need some extra energy stores! Was a Normal bmi so ive read should be 25lb to 35lb weight gain.expected

aletea · 04/05/2015 20:52

4 or 5lbs and I'm only 7+2!!

Racheyg · 04/05/2015 20:55

I am over 36 weeks and I have put on 3 1/2 stone :( I am all bump and measure 4 weeks ahead and the baby is huge..........

I'm heartbroken that I have put on so much weight. I was already overweight to begin with so I have a long road ahead.

OMGBabyNo3 · 04/05/2015 21:10

18 weeks. Started at 9st 4 lbs and still 9st 4lbs. Am 5ft 2. Felt v nauseaus for first trimester. To be honest though I feel like I've been eating quite a lot since. I am lucky though and don't tend to put a lot on in pregnancy. This is my third.

RainbowTortoise · 04/05/2015 21:11

First pregnancy
Started off at 9st 7lbs and by 40 weeks I was over 12 and a half stone. I expected to loose loads of the weight after I have birth and was really surprised when I weighed myself and I was still nearly 12 stone. However, the weight fell off whilst breastfeeding, by 6 months I was back to pre baby weight (she bf a lot!)

I am now 24 weeks pregnant and I have put on about 20lbs, maybe more. I tend to gain weight all over, especially on my legs, bum and thighs.

JustDrive · 04/05/2015 21:39

Starting weight 7st 8
Week 28 weight 9st 5
Height 5ft

ARGH!!! This thread not making me feel good haha!

Racheyg · 04/05/2015 21:43

I forgot to add I put on about 4 stone with ds1 who is now 21 months.

AngusAndElspethsThistleWhistle · 04/05/2015 21:50

I'm 18+6 and have put on a stone. Not too fussed to be honest...clinging to the hope that BFing will take it off!

Focusfocus · 04/05/2015 22:27

7.7 lbs in 15 weeks.

Rebecca1608 · 04/05/2015 22:31

This is my first pregnancy. I'm 32 weeks and got 4 weeks left (identical twins) i've put on 2 stone. I've gone from a size 10 to a size 14. I've tried to stay healthyish but.... i've hammered crisps and dips haha.

S2b16 · 06/05/2015 21:41

I lost 2kg at 16 week app, had 28 week app today and I've put a huge 9kg on Angry midwife said that's fine and she's not worried at all (bmi was 30) but I am all bump and boobs so seems a lot

Halleberry · 07/05/2015 00:14

Lol making me feel bad reading All this Aswell .... I'm 37+2 .... Start weight was 11 stone .... Im now 14 n half stone and only 5"2.... I hope I can exercise and eat better once she is born when I hopefully feel better Sad

Roseybee10 · 07/05/2015 03:53

I gained 4 stone with my first pregnancy and like you, felt awful afterwards and have hardly any pics with my dd.
I worked my butt off after that and got down to 8st 8lbs (5ft4) from 14 stone the day I went into labour.

I then fell pregnant again last May and vowed I wasn't going to 'eat for two' as I was in so much pain in my joints and pelvis towards the end last time due to all the extra weight I was carrying.
I gained around 4-5lbs by 18 weeks I think. Like you, I needed to snack constantly in first trimester.
After 20 weeks I put on about 1lb a week and gained a total of 23lbs the whole pregnancy. I lost 10lbs right away and then another 7lbs within a week. 3 months on and I have 3-4lbs to go to get back to pre pregnant weight. I found the whole pregnancy so much easier this time and was so much more comfy. Had a really neat bump and was really mobile until the end.
I didn't deprive myself of anything I fancied but this time I just had a slice of cake rather than the whole cake if that makes sense.

Don't beat yourself up too much about it. Try your best not to go ott but also give yourself a break. I'd let myself have way more treats than usual but kept it to fun size chocolate and stuff like that. X

ejclementine · 07/05/2015 07:33

I'm only six weeks and I've lost a couple of pounds. I'm expecting to lose a little because I did enjoy my wine before and the odd take away; now I'm on water and healthy eating. I'm 5'10 and 13.6st so I could do with getting the wait down in this first trimester (whilst eating well). Great to see all of your changes as it gives me an idea of what to expect. x

worriedmum100 · 07/05/2015 07:48

20 weeks here with DS2. Started at 9 stone (5ft 4) and am now 9 stone 6lb .

Weirdly though I think I look slimmer than I did pre pregnancy around my arse bum and thighs and I still seem to have a waist of sorts but this may just be the bump making everything else look smaller!

Boobs are bigger but they were big to begin with (32GG now 32G before).

I was much bigger in the round with DS1 by this point but my bump is bigger this time round. I'm putting it down to just eating less as I've really had no appetite this time. I get hungry but don't really fancy anything so just eat for fuel really. Although I did go through a crackers and cheese phase for while. I ate a lot more cake with DS1 Grin

Hophop987 · 07/05/2015 07:54

28 weeks and gained 7lbs so far. Started with normal BMI.

With my first pregnancy I gained 2st 11,so trying to eat healthier this time

BifsWif · 07/05/2015 10:08

38 + 4, ive gained 2stone, 4lb!

It seems to be all bump though, my pre pregnancy stuff fits but won't fasten and I'm having growth scans/consultant appointments due to my massive baby!

lucylu79 · 07/05/2015 13:07

Thankyou for your lovely story xx

Gosh, how do so many people stay so light!??

34wks and saw consultant yesterday - up 12kg from start (about 26lbs i think). I am vey greedy but have been keeping up exercising 3-4 days per week for an hour. Consultant said this was fine.

Have noticed a massive increase in appetite in last fortnight or so. Especially interest in eating things in the night when up with braxton hicks and general discomfort.

Stinkersmum · 07/05/2015 13:42

Start of pregnancy I was 85kg. I'm 6'2 so I'm not a complete heffer. At 14+4 I'd actually lost 2kg, weighing in at 83kg. My nausea was awful and I only felt better if I was eating but I was disciplined about what I ate - a lot of crudités, fruit etc. But considering the size of my bump now and easing up on the strictness of my diet I'm sure I've gained that 2kg back plus some.... Confused

misssmilla1 · 07/05/2015 14:00

Standard weight gain (i.e. by the Drs textbooks...) if you have a normal BMI to start with is anywhere from 20-35lbs. This doesn't really take in to account the amount of amniotic fluid some people can carry etc.

Hellohellohowareyou · 07/05/2015 14:00

Right I weighed myself this morning and I've put on 0.5 lbs. well I'm 0.5 lbs heavier than pre preg. I lost a lot in the first trimester due to HG but have steadily gained it back

I would much rather have gained a couple of stone in exchange for being hospitalised due to dehydrated and still throwing up at 32 weeks Smile
